Hyderabad: Days after apologising for the inclusion of private properties in the prohibited list, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy blamed officials once again for erroneously including genuine properties in the 22A prohibited list. He assured that such errors would be corrected soon and genuine properties cleared. He said the government had been reviewing the issue for four weeks and had uploaded relevant orders online for transparency.
Citing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s Jubilee Hills residence as an example, the Minister said Survey No. 403 covered 1,288 acres, of which only two plots had an issue, but officials had mistakenly placed the entire survey number in the prohibited list. He said the error was subsequently rectified. He assured that the government would place before the public details of additions to the prohibited list since December 7, 2023, and take steps to address longstanding land-related errors.
Speaking to mediapersons at the State Secretariat on Monday, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy accused the Opposition of mixing facts with falsehoods and exaggerating the 22A issue to create panic among people. He said nearly 98 per cent of genuine registrations among booked slots had already been cleared and assured that genuine cases would be resolved. He also rejected allegations that the 22A helpline was non-functional, stating that it had received 1,162 calls, with genuine cases being addressed on a fast-track basis.
In the wake of some people attempting to get their lands registered using forged documents, the Minister said the government would not entertain attempts to secure registrations through fake GOs or memos. He warned that cases would be registered against those involved. He said disputed CS7 and CS14 lands would be dealt with based on court orders and expressed readiness for a SIT probe into their alleged irregularities. He blamed the previous BRS government for the majority of the irregularities in the prohibited list.
Srinivas Reddy announced that the government was working on a comprehensive policy to resolve long-pending issues involving Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) and Bhoodan lands. A clear policy for pending ULC cases would be brought out soon, while Bhoodan land disputes would be examined on a case-by-case basis.
