According to information available, the Hyderabad-based passenger had recently retired from the Indian Army and had already surrendered the ammunition in his possession to the Government of India. However, he reportedly forgot to hand over a few rounds and empty cartridges left in his bag.
The officer arrived at the airport to board a flight to Delhi. During security screening, officials found the ammunition in his baggage and seized it.
The items were subsequently handed over to RGIA police.
