NPDCL outsourced worker electrocuted to death in Asifabad; family seeks justice

An outsourced NPDCL worker was electrocuted while repairing a power line between Gontlapet and Motlaguda villages in Kumram Bheem Asifabad on Monday. His family staged a sit-in at the hospital, alleging power was restored without warning.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: An outsourced worker of the NPDCL was electrocuted on a power line between Gontlapet and Motlaguda villages on Monday.

Police said that the worker, Chandu (32) from Bombayiguda village received serious injuries after he climbed the pole to repair a power line. He was rushed to a private hospital in Kagaznagar town where he was declared dead. Further details of the incident are awaited.


Meanwhile, Chandu’s family members staged a sit-in at the hospital demanding justice. They said that Chandu took precautions before climbing up a pole, but power was supplied without information claiming his life. They wanted NPDCL to provide compensation and a job on compassionate grounds.
