A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her maternal uncle and two relatives in Keesara. Police registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act, detained one suspect, and launched a search for the two remaining accused who are absconding.

Hyderabad: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her maternal uncle and two young relatives under the influence of ganja in Keesara.
According to police, the girl’s parents had passed away, following which she had been living with her grandmother at Keesara. She is studying and staying at a residential hostel at Turkapally.
The police said the girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her maternal uncle and two young men related to her while she was alone at the house a few weeks ago. The suspects were reportedly under the influence of ganja at the time of the incident. The trio allegedly threatened the victim against disclosing about it to anyone.
The incident surfaced after the victim informed about the sexual assault during a conversation with her relatives. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the Keesara police.
A case has been registered under provisions of the BNS law, and POCSO Act. Police have taken one of the suspects into custody, while efforts are underway to trace the other two, who are absconding.
The investigation is in progress.
