Hyderabad: Techie dies by suicide in Raidurgam

Hyderabad: A 40-year-old software engineer died by suicide after jumping from the fourth floor of the office building where he worked in Raidurgam late on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as TV Avinash, a native of Bengaluru. He had shifted to Hyderabad around two months ago with his wife and two children and was residing in Kukatpally. He was employed at an IT company in Knowledge City.

Police said Avinash informed his family around 7 pm that he was leaving the office. However, when he did not return home, his family contacted his workplace and was told that he had already left the premises. Later, in the night, one of his relatives searched the area behind the office building and found him lying in a pool of blood.

The Raidurgam police analysed the CCTV footage from the spot, which reportedly showed Avinash jumping from the play area on the fourth floor of the building.

During the investigation, police learnt that Avinash had recently lost around Rs 2 lakh in an alleged cyber fraud. They are now examining whether the financial loss drove him to take the extreme step or if there were any other reasons behind the incident.

The case is under investigation.
