A senior military adviser to the commander-in-chief of Iran’s armed forces has warned that the Axis of Resistance will draw the United States and the Israeli regime into a “quagmire,” saying that Iran and the resistance front will ultimately prevail against any aggression.
Speaking to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television network on Wednesday, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said the Axis of Resistance extends from Iran to Lebanon and spans the Mediterranean Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait and the Red Sea.
The resistance, he added, “will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping the region’s political and security equations without the presence of foreign powers.”
Rahim Safavi reiterated that Iran and the Axis of Resistance will undoubtedly emerge victorious in the face of any US-Israeli aggression.
He also hailed Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement as the guardian of the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, saying Iranians and Lebanese of all faiths, including Muslims and Christians, would courageously defend their homelands.
Iran has repeatedly reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Israel’s continued aggression against the country.
During a meeting with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jean Arnault on Sunday, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s commitment to supporting Lebanon and called on the United Nations to take a firm stance against Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire.
