CPI(M) protests at Sangareddy Collectorate over school infrastructure

CPI(M) workers staged a protest at the Sangareddy Collectorate, demanding improved infrastructure in government schools, recruitment of teachers and staff, timely supply of textbooks and uniforms, stricter action against private school fee hikes and higher budget allocation for education.

CPI(M) protests at Sangareddy Collectorate over school infrastructure

Sangareddy: CPI(M) workers staged a protest at the Sangareddy Collectorate on Thursday, demanding that the government provide basic infrastructure facilities in schools and recruit teachers and other staff. They alleged that the government had failed to provide textbooks and uniforms to students even till now.

Speaking on the occasion, party district secretary Gollapally Jayaraju also demanded that the government take stern action against the managements of private schools for increasing tuition fees indiscriminately. Stating that party leaders had visited several government schools across the district to assess the situation, Jayaraju said many issues were affecting the schools. He demanded that the government increase budget allocation to the education sector to 10 per cent.


Later, CPI(M) leaders submitted a representation to Administrative Officer at the Collectorate R Vijayalakshmi.
