Ikebasana exhibition in Hyderabad blends Japanese floral art with yoga

The “Ikebasana: Ikebana & Asanas” exhibition at Aalankritha Art Gallery in Hyderabad showcased yoga-inspired floral arrangements created using the Japanese art of Ikebana. Artists creatively interpreted yoga postures through flowers and natural materials, celebrating mindfulness, balance and artistic expression.

Ikebasana exhibition in Hyderabad blends Japanese floral art with yoga

Hyderabad: Ikebana International Rangareddy (P) Chapter #270 presented a unique exhibition titled ‘Ikebasana: Ikebana & Asanas’ at the newly refurbished Aalankritha Art Gallery, Madhapur, bringing together the elegance of Japanese floral art and the mindfulness of yoga.

The exhibition showcased creative interpretations of yoga asanas through Ikebana, the centuries-old Japanese art of floral arrangement. Members transformed flowers, branches, vines, driftwood, and natural materials into artistic representations of yoga postures, including Mayurasana, Padmasana, Vajrasana, Sethubandhasana, Dhanurasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana, and others.


The exhibition featured works by Chapter President Rekha Reddy along with members Pavithra Naidu, Anitha Pasupuleti, Ananda Thumrugoti, Prashanti Goel, and others, each presenting unique floral interpretations inspired by yoga and its philosophy of balance, strength, and inner harmony.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Samantha Reddy, Partner, Quartzkraft; Sunitha Reddy, Psychologist and Founder, 360 Fitness Pro; and Nirmala Agarwal, President, Ohara School of Ikebana, Hyderabad Chapter.
