Hyderabad: Balabhadrapatruni Yashwwanth, a 14-year-old student of Pallavi Model School, has secured his fifth world record in martial arts.
Training under Grandmaster Shaswat Kumar at Senkoukai Karate, Yashwwanth achieved these milestones as his direct student.
Yashwwanth specialises in high-velocity biomechanics and striking speed. His achievements have been verified by the Asian Book of World Records and the Martial Arts Book of World Records (MABWR), which officially recognises world record titles.
The five world records are: Most full-extension punches in 30 seconds while wearing boxing gloves (161 punches); Most full-extension punches in 20 seconds while wearing karate gloves (107 punches); Most single-hand full-extension punches on a wall while wearing karate gloves in 30 seconds (108 punches); Most alternating martial arts kicks on a pad in one minute (107 kicks), approved by MABWR; and Maximum half-stretch punches in one minute (404 punches).
Yashwwanth set the latter record by surpassing the previous teenage mark of 222 punches and the adult record of 384 punches, showcasing exceptional speed and endurance.
The youngster’s historic achievement was guided by Grandmaster Shaswat Kumar, who made history as the first Indian martial artist to receive the “Grandmaster of the Century” award, officially conferred in China.
