Medak: Rivalry between two families led to twin murders in less than 24 hours. According to villagers and Chinna Shankarampet police, Yata Sridhar (25) of Suraram in Chinna Shankarampet mandal and Ranaboyina Prabhakar had serious differences after Prabhakar married Sridhar’s cousin 15 days ago.
Over the same issue, Prabhakar chased Sridhar, who was going on his bike, with an auto and dashed against him at Anantha Sagar in Chegunta mandal on Monday. When he fell, Prabhakar and his friends beat him to death in broad daylight while everyone was watching.
The family members of Sridhar staged a protest at Anantha Sagar demanding action against Prabhakar and other persons involved in the murder. The murder sparked tension back in Suraram, where Sridhar’s family members beat Prabhakar’s father Yadagiri and dumped the body in Haldi Vagu on Monday late night.
As the twin murders created tension in the village, police deployed a large number of forces to bring the situation under control. Sridhar is survived by his wife and two-month-old daughter. The police were on the lookout for the accused involved in the twin murders. The probe was on.
