Hyderabad: Padma Shri awardee and Kinnera artiste Darshanam Mogulaiah continues to run from pillar to post to secure a house patta for the residential plot allotted to him by the previous BRS government in 2022. Soon after the Union Government announced the Padma Shri award for Mogulaiah, the then Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore and allotted him a 600-square-yard house plot at Kuntloor in Hayathnagar.

In September 2024, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy handed over the land allotment documents to Mogulaiah. However, the artiste said he is yet to receive the house patta, which would establish his ownership of the property. During the Praja Vani programme on Monday, Mogulaiah met Rangareddy District Collector C Narayana Reddy and submitted a representation seeking issuance of the patta.

Speaking to reporters later, the Padma Shri awardee said the Collector had assured him that the issue would be resolved at the earliest. “As a father, I want to transfer the property to my four sons. Other awardees have already received pattas for their plots, but I do not know why mine is still pending,” Mogulaiah said. He also claimed that he had earlier tried to meet the Chief Minister to raise the issue but was not allowed to do so by security personnel.

Mogulaiah said he has faced difficulties ever since the plot was allotted. In October 2024, a compound wall constructed around the property was demolished by unidentified persons. The Hayathnagar police inspected the site and registered a case.
