Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials conducted extensive searches at the residence and properties linked to Sunkari Narahari, Deputy Director in the Land and Survey Department, and reportedly uncovering alleged disproportionate assets with market value worth around Rs150 crore on Tuesday.
The raids were carried out under the supervision of ACB DSP Gangasani Sridhar at Narahari’s residence in Narayanaguda and 11 other locations across the State.
During the searches, investigators reportedly seized key documents and discovered Rs 1.2 crore in cash that had been packed in bags and hidden in an attic.
Officials also recovered a large quantity of gold ornaments and other valuables.
Preliminary findings suggest that the assets identified so far are vastly disproportionate to the officer’s known sources of income.
The ACB said the searches are continuing, and officials are expected to open and inspect several bank lockers linked to the officer.
A comprehensive valuation of the seized assets is underway, and further details are likely to emerge as the investigation progresses.
The case is being treated as a disproportionate assets investigation, with the agency examining financial records, property documents and investment details recovered during the searches.
