A farmer in Gudipet village, Mancherial, fell at the feet of a revenue officer pleading for the procurement of his paddy produce, reflecting the dire plight of farmers amid delays in the Yasangi season procurement. The incident, captured in a viral video, is being widely circulated on social media platforms.

Mancherial: Reflecting the pitiable condition of the farming community, a farmer fell at the feet of a revenue official requesting her to procure his paddy produce at a procurement centre in Gudipet village on Thursday.

In the video that went viral on social media platforms, the hapless farmer touched the feet of Hajipur Mandal Revenue Officer Pushpalatha, pleading with her to buy the produce. He regretted that they were struggling to protect their paddy produce shifted to centres. He stated that they were forced to stay awake to safeguard the grains in view of unseasonal rains.


Earlier, farmers from multiple villages said that they were facing hardships due to delays in procurement of paddy produce belonging to the Yasangi season.

They staged a rasta roko demanding procurement of paddy produce at Gudipet village. Farmers were irked by the lethargic process in several parts of the district.
