A 19-year-old youth died after a car hit the bike he was riding pillion on in Hyderabad’s Santoshnagar area. He sustained severe injuries and was declared dead at a hospital, while the rider survived with injuries

19-year-old pillion rider killed in road accident in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 19-year-old man who was riding pillion on a bike died after being hit by a car on the Santoshnagar road on Sunday afternoon.

Mohammed Ibrahim (19), a resident of Moghalpura, along with a relative, was going on a bike. While Ibrahim was seated as a pillion rider, his relative was driving the bike.


“According to eyewitnesses, a car going from Chandrayangutta towards Owaisi Hospital hit the bike from behind. Ibrahim fell onto the car and then onto the road and suffered serious injuries. He was shifted to a hospital where he was pronounced dead,” said Santoshnagar sub-inspector Shaik Wajeed. The condition of the other biker was reportedly stable.

The police registered a case and are investigating.
