People have taken to the streets throughout various cities across the world, celebrating Iran’s decisive retaliation against the Israeli regime’s recent terrorist attack on the Islamic Republic’s diplomatic mission in the Syrian capital Damascus.
On Saturday, Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) launched “extensive” retaliatory missile and drone strikes against the occupied territories in response to the April 1 attack.
The Israeli attack had resulted in the martyrdom of Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a commander of the IRGC’s Quds Force, his deputy, General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, and five of their accompanying officers.
Shortly after the retaliation, Iranians took to the streets at Palestine Square and in front of the University of Tehran in the capital, waving national flags and chanting slogans in support of the Corps.
“I’m truly proud of the Corps for its decisive retaliation against this criminal and child-killing regime,” one participant told Press TV.
“The usurping regime of Israel should know this clearly that the Islamic Republic would not hesitate to respond with force to its acts of mischief targeting the Iranian interests around the region,” said another.
Similar rallies were held on the al-Aqsa Mosque’s compound in the holy occupied city of al-Quds, where Palestinians came out to celebrate after hearing news of the Iranian retaliation.
Pro-Palestinian activists also rallied in Toronto, hailing Iran’s retaliatory strikes, lighting up firecrackers, and waving baloons.
