Iraqi Resistance conducts aerial attack on Zionist positions

In a statement of Tuesday morning, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance said that its forces conducted a drone attack on Israeli Tel Nof Airbase in the city of Rehovot, central occupied Palestinian territories.

The Iraqi Resistance had warned the Israeli regime in previous operations that if Tel Aviv continued its attacks on the Gaza Strip, it would intensify its operations against the regime’s positions.

Israel waged its brutal war on besieged Gaza on October 7 after Hamas carried out an unprecedented operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

Kajol’s hilarious wish for ‘b’day boy’, who’s so excited that he’s ‘jumping up and down’

Mumbai: One of Bollywood’s most serious actors, Ajay Devgn, turned 55 on Tuesday and his actress-wife had the most hilarious way of wishing her star husband.

Kajol took to X (formerly called Twitter) and shared a picture of the actor.

The actress wrote: “Since I know your soooooo excited about your birthday that your jumping up and down like a kid and clapping your hands and turning in circles at the thought of your cake… lemme start the day off by wishing u a very very very happy birthday @ajaydevgn.”

“PS:- if anybody has a video of him doing any of this please send it to me immediately #BirthdayBoy,” she added.

Kajol and Ajay have worked together in several films such as ‘Gundaraj’, ‘Raju Chacha’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha’, ‘U, Me Aur Hum’ and ‘Tanhaji’, among many others.

In 1994, the two started dating while filming ‘Gundaraj’. The two got married in 1999 in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony. In 2003, Kajol gave birth to their daughter Nysa and seven years later in 2010, she gave birth to their son Yug.

Inter Milan Beat Empoli To Close In On Serie A Title

Inter Milan took another step towards the Serie A title on Monday with a straightforward 2-0 win over struggling Empoli which maintained their 14-point lead at the top of the league. Federico Dimarco put Inter ahead after five minutes at the San Siro before substitute Alexis Sanchez sealed the points in front of delighted home fans with nine minutes remaining. Monday’s comfortable victory left Inter needing just 11 more points from eight matches to beat second-placed AC Milan to a 20th Italian league crown.

Inter have a huge lead on their local rivals thanks in large part to academy product Dimarco, whose first-time strike from Alessandro Bastoni’s neat clipped pass separated the hosts from their spirited opponents for most of the match.

It was Bastoni’s third assist in as many league matches and the Italy defender joked: “It was the worst of the lot, Dimarco’s finish made it look much better!”

“We’re really happy with the win because we’ve just come off the international break and it’s never easy winning after travelling around the world,” added Bastoni.

Simone Inzaghi’s side were far from the scintillating form they showed before being knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid last month.

But Inter have dropped only two points since the turn of the year and Monday’s win was a good way to end what has been a difficult couple of weeks.

Francesco Acerbi was cleared late last month of racially abusing Napoli defender Juan Jesus, an ugly episode which dragged on through the international break as the Italy defender and Inter denied the accusation.

Acerbi started the game after avoiding a potential 10-match ban due to the Italian Football Federation’s disciplinary tribunal deciding there wasn’t enough evidence to punish him.

A fourth straight defeat without scoring a goal left Empoli back in the relegation zone on goals scored, swapping places with 17th-placed Frosinone who drew 1-1 with Genoa on Saturday.

“If that run had knocked our confidence you’d have seen it tonight with a bad performance but that didn’t happen,” said Empoli coach Davide Nicola.

Bologna charge on

Bologna cruised past Serie A’s bottom side Salernitana 3-0 to continue their charge towards a first-ever appearance in the Champions League.

Stunning first-half strikes from Riccardo Orsolini and Alexis Saelemaekers and Charalampos Lykogiannis’ fine finish in stoppage time ensured that Bologna would stay in fourth place, five points above Roma who were held to a goalless draw at Lecce.

Thiago Motta‘s side have won eight of their last nine matches and not only look a good bet to reach Europe’s top club competition, but also have Juventus in their sights.

Juve are just two points ahead of Bologna in third following their last-gasp defeat at Lazio on Saturday and have been dragged back into a battle for the Champions League.

Bologna currently sit in the final spot but Serie A is firmly in the running for an extra place in next year’s revamped tournament, meaning fifth may well be good enough.

Both Bologna and Roma host Juve before the end of the season.

“We’re doing really well at the minute, with the way that we’re playing and the results we’re getting,” said Motta to Sky Sport.

Although the seven-time Italian champions played one round in the old European Cup in 1964, the same year that they most recently won the Scudetto, they have never participated in the modern Champions League.

Last season’s ninth place was the highest Bologna had finished in Serie A for over a decade and they are well on course for their best placing in years.

“Obviously we’re looking at the table but that’s not what matters to us, what’s important is putting in the work in training and the performances on the pitch,” said Saelemaekers.

Stefano Colantuono could not turn around Salernitana’s fortunes in his first match in charge, his team falling to their third straight defeat as they sink towards Serie B.

Salernitana have not won a single game since the turn of the year and are 12 points from safety.

Iran urges urgent UNSC meeting on Israel attack on consulate

Ambassador and Charge d’ Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Zahra Ershadi has written a letter to the UN Security Council following an Israeli air strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria, demanding an urgent UNSC meeting to categorically denounce the violation of international regulations.

The full text of the letter comes as follows,

Upon instructions of my Government, I am writing to you regarding the flagrant violation of fundamental norms and principles of international law by the Israeli regime wherein the Israeli occupying regime perpetrated a heinous and abhorrent terrorist attack on the diplomatic premises of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Syrian Arab Republic. At 4:45 p.m. on 1 April 2024, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s diplomatic premises in Damascus were intentionally targeted by missile airstrikes launched by the Israeli regime from the occupied Golan Heights, resulting in the martyrdom and tragic loss of at least five Iranian personnel, including senior military advisors, and the complete destruction of Iran’s diplomatic premises in question.

These horrific crimes and cowardly terrorist attacks are a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, international law,  and the foundational principle of the inviolability of diplomatic and consular premises, as outlined in the 1961 Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, and the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes Against Internationally Protected Persons including Diplomatic Agents of 1973 and pose a significant threat to regional peace and security.

Considering the far-reaching international implications of such a reprehensible act which can exacerbate tensions in the region and potentially ignite more conflict involving other nations, the Islamic Republic of Iran urges the Security Council to condemn this unjustified criminal act and terrorist attack perpetrated by the Israel regime in the strongest terms possible. Furthermore, Iran calls upon the Security Council to take all necessary measures including through an urgent meeting to address this egregious violation, to prevent future acts of aggression that jeopardize the security and safety of diplomatic missions, and to ensure that those responsible for such criminal acts are swiftly brought to justice.

The aggressor Zionist regime bears full responsibility for its consequences and the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves its legitimate and inherent right under international law and the United Nations Charter to take a decisive response to such reprehensible acts.

I should be grateful if you would circulate the present letter as a document of the Security Council.

8 Passengers Stuck On African Island After Cruise Ship Abandons Them

8 Passengers Stranded On African Island After Cruise Ship Leaves Them Behind

The 8 passengers left behind have now been struggling to catch up with their ship.

Eight cruise ship passengers, including a pregnant woman and an elderly man with a heart condition, were left stranded on an African island after their Norwegian Cruise line ship departed without them, New York Post reported. A couple from South Carolina, said they are stuck on the Central African island of Sao Tome with four other American and two Australian passengers after the captain of the ship allegedly refused to let them reboard.

The eight passengers left behind have now been struggling for days to catch up with their ship.

”We have never had an experience like this before,” said one of the abandoned passengers.

Notably, the passengers were late getting back to the ship on March 27, according to a statement from Norwegian Cruise Line.

”Eight guests who were on the island on their own or with a private tour missed the last tender back to the vessel, therefore not meeting the all-aboard time of 3 p.m. local time,” the statement said.

”While this is a very unfortunate situation, guests are responsible for ensuring they return to the ship at the published time, which is communicated broadly over the ship’s intercom, in the daily communication and posted just before exiting the vessel.”

The stranded South Carolina couple Jill and Jay Campbell said there was an issue with their tour on the island, and the guide failed to return them to the ship on time on Friday. However, when they arrived at the port, the ship was still anchored, and the island’s Coast Guard assisted them in getting back onboard via a boat. However, the captain of the ship allegedly declined to let them reenter the vessel and they were left there without their possessions, money, or vital medications.

The couple told CNN affiliate WPDE that the passengers spent 15 hours travelling through six countries to try to rejoin their ship on Sunday in Gambia.

The Campbells also said that several members of the group are elderly, another is a paraplegic and one woman is pregnant. They said one member of the group had been without his heart medication for five days and had become ill.

The passengers are now heading to a port in Senegal, where the cruise is set to dock on Tuesday.

”We looked at some type of van transportation for eight people, the quadriplegic woman included, driving from here. We have to cross the ferry to get into Senegal,” Jay Campbell told WPDE.

”We just learned from the gentleman that the ferry hadn’t been working, but he said, ‘No problem if the ferry is not working, we will get another little boat and then pick up a car on the other side. And then once we get on the other side of Senegal, it’s another four-hour drive,” he added.

Video: Lawyer Drives Mercedes SUV Into Delhi Kachori Joint, 6 Injured

The accident took place around 3 pm on Sunday

New Delhi:

A weekend treat at Fateh Kachori in Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate area turned into a nightmare for dozens when a speeding Mercedes SUV drove into the popular food joint, leaving six people injured.

A CCTV camera inside the eatery has captured the shocking incident that took place around 3 pm on Sunday. The footage shows business as usual for a few seconds. Then, all the customers are seen looking in one direction, alarmed. Before they can react or move out of the way, the SUV enters the shop, throwing tables and people all around, and hits a wall.

As the shock subsides and the SUV reverses from the wall, people start looking for their family members. At the centre of the frame is a middle-aged man who came to the joint with his wife. The CCTV footage captures his helplessness as he fails to spot his partner. At one point, he kneels and starts looking under the car.

And then, to his relief, his wife appears from behind. As he holds her hand, she is seen gesturing that she is okay. Moments later, the two are seen with their arms around each other, thanking their stars for the narrow escape.

Another man, who was right in front of the car’s bonnet, appears to have suffered a serious injury on his leg. He manages to get back on his feet somehow before others step in to help him out of the shop.

According to police, the car was being driven by a 36-year-old lawyer. Parag Maini, a resident of Noida, was found on the spot when police reached there. He has been arrested in a case of rash driving and the SUV seized. Police have said that preliminary medical examination of the driver had found that he was not drunk, but his blood samples have been collected for further analysis. Maini’s wife was also in the car when the accident took place.

The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital and further probe is on, police said.

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao decided to serve legal notices to three Congress leaders including Minister Konda Surekha for defamation and slanders, following their allegations against him over tapping their phones during the BRS regime.

He also will serve legal notices to news outlets who are publishing these news without verifying the facts. He demanded that they either apologise for their baseless and nonsensical allegations or face legal consequences.

While Minister Konda Surekha alleged that Rama Rao was indulged in phone tapping and threatening of some film personalities, Congress leader KK Mahender Reddy and Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivasa Reddy complained to the police that their phones were tapped by the police during the Assembly elections at the behest of the BRS working president.

Vexed with the negative propaganda against him, Rama Rao had recently initiated legal action against various television channels and digital media outlets including Google and Youtube for airing false news and causing defamation.

At least 20 news channels and digital media were served notices in this regard.

India sees 3 pc monthly rise in hiring, white-collar gig jobs up 184 pc

New Delhi: India saw a 3 per cent monthly rise in hiring in the months of February and March, as white-collar gig jobs skyrocketed 184 per cent (year-on-year), a report showed on Tuesday.

Additionally, gig workers, representing a vital workforce segment, expanded by 21 per cent over the same period, highlighting companies’ increasing reliance on freelancers and independent contractors to meet business needs, according to the report by foundit (formerly Monster APAC & ME).

The IT sector is at the forefront of the gig boom and the share of IT software in the gig economy has nearly doubled, jumping from 22 per cent in March 2023 to a dominant 46 per cent in March this year.

“The metro cities of Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai are paving the way for gig jobs. We expect the gig economy to grow even more in the next few months, so it’s prudent for job seekers to equip themselves with relevant skills that will make them stand out in a competitive market,” said Sekhar Garisa, CEO, foundit.

Advertising and marketing also witnessed significant growth, with the share of gig jobs increasing from 5 per cent to 18 per cent over the past year.

The IT sector saw a marginal decline from 7 per cent growth in February to 2 per cent in March.

The banking/financial services and insurance (BFSI) sector reported stagnant growth.

Engineering, cement, construction and iron/steel maintained a steady growth rate in March, the report noted.

Further, the government, public sector undertakings (PSUs), and defence sectors experienced a slight uptick in hiring activity.
