Saying that up to now, Qassam fighters have detnated 22 Israeli military vehicles with Yasin-105 mortars, Abu Obeidah said, “Our forces conducted several infiltration operations and bypassed the enemy forces and managed to destroy a number of them.”

Stating that in the current operation, the Resistance Navy has used the “Al Asif” torpedo for the first time, he clarified, “Gaza will be the enemy’s graveyard. We consider this war as the beginning of the war for the liberation of Palestine and the expulsion of Israel.”

"Will Free Some Foreign Hostages In Next Few Days": Hamas

Hamas Vows To Turn 'Gaza Into Graveyard For Israel's Military'

Hamas has vowed to turn Gaza into a graveyard for Israel’s military.

Palestinian Territories:

Hamas’s armed wing said Tuesday it would release in the coming days some of the foreign hostages in its captivity, as it vowed to turn Gaza into a graveyard for Israel’s military.

“We have informed intermediaries that we will release a certain number of foreigners in the next few days,” Abu Obeida, a spokesman for Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, said in a televised address.

Around 240 hostages are believed to be held by Hamas at the moment in Gaza, after the group attacked communities across southern Israel on October 7, triggering a fierce bombing campaign and ground incursion of the territory by the Israeli military.

Five hostages have been released to date, including four after negotiations through a diplomatic backchannel and one following an operation by the Israeli army.

The announcement came as international warnings increased over the spiralling bloodshed and mounting humanitarian crisis in Gaza, on a day in which Israeli troops and Hamas militants engaged in “fierce battles” in the north of the strip.

“Gaza will be a graveyard and a quagmire for the enemy, its soldiers and its political and military leadership,” said Obeida.

Warplanes kept up a relentless barrage of strikes on Gaza, where the Hamas-run health ministry said that 8,525 people had died so far, including over 3,500 children.

The ministry later said at least 50 people were killed in an Israeli bombardment of a refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

Former CM Chenna Reddy had admitted that 1990 riots were engineered by Congress leaders

Hyderabad: The Congress has a notorious history of inciting violence, including communal riots, in the State. In short, history proves that the Congress can stoop to any low to influence voters and usurp power with incidents from the past reflecting the party’s brand of dirty politics.

For those who doubt this, take a flashback to 1990. The 1990 riots, considered the worst communal riots in Hyderabad’s history, broke out in September 1990 and continued in 1991 as well. People were killed, establishments were ransacked and law and order was out of control. The Congress was in power. As per reports in the media, not a single rioter was caught. All the clashes and disturbances were orchestrated by vested interests and to derive political significance. And now comes the shocker.

Forget the Opposition. The then Chief Minister M Chenna Reddy, who was facing stiff opposition from within the party over the riots, himself went on record stating that the riots were engineered by his rivals in the Congress. All this was done to oust him from power and dethrone his government.

On December 12, 1990, after making up his mind to resign as the Chief Minister, Chenna Reddy had invited a few Ministers, MLAs and senior party leaders to his residence at Tarnaka.

A leading vernacular newspaper quoted Chenna Reddy saying: “I have spoken to Rajiv Gandhi last night and informed him that a couple of MLAs within the party was involved in the communal riots.” He also appealed to the Ministers and MLAs, who were preparing to quit the party, not to take any decisions in haste.

Again during K Rosaiah’s tenure, there were communal riots in Hyderabad. After the Old City, the miscreants targeted Bholakpur, Ranigunj, Paradise and neighbouring areas. Some senior Congress leaders from Telangana alleged that the riots were the handiwork of a section of their party colleagues to destabilise Rosaiah’s government, news report say.

Going by the notorious history of the party, it is evident that Congress can stoop to any low to come to power. The attack on Medak MP and BRS Dubbak MLA candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy at Surampally on Monday only reflects the Congress party’s brand of violent politics. Even as several leaders cut across party lines to condemn the attack, the Congress was indulging in a blame-game and trying to hold the BRS responsible for the attack on its own MP.

Dubbak Congress candidate C Sudhakar Reddy went on to allege that the accused was in an inebriated condition and that the Congress was not connected to him. Demanding a CBI enquiry, he said the accused, Ghatani Raju, was no longer with the Congress.

Hyderabad: BRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced that plans were afoot to address the long-standing water crisis in erstwhile Nalgonda district by reducing farmers’ dependency on Krishna River water. He said the State government already was looking into proposals to utilise Godavari River water to provide a permanent solution to the water problem.

The plan involves linking the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) with the Nagarjuna Sagar project ayacut and supply the water from KLIS to Asif Nagar Canal and then to the Udaya Samudram project in Nalgonda before channeling it to the Pedadevulapalli Cheruvu.

“Thus we can prevent drought seasons in Nalgonda region caused due to lean flows into the Krishna Basin, as it happened this year,” Chandrashekhar Rao said, while addressing Praja Ashirvada Sabha public meetings at Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda and Devarakonda constituencies in erstwhile Nalgonda on Tuesday.

He pointed out that water from Nagarjuna Sagar had been released a total of 18 times over the last nine years, supporting agricultural activities in the region. However, sufficient water could not be supplied in Nagarjuna Sagar ayacut, especially the tail-end areas, due to declined flows into Krishna River.

The Chief Minister said the much-anticipated Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme, which had faced numerous delays due to legal issues initiated by Congress leaders, had now received a fresh lease of life. The legal hurdles were successfully cleared, allowing the project to move forward.

Following his intervention, the Centre decided to expedite the process and recently, the matter was referred to a tribunal. Exuding confidence that the Dindi Lift Irrigation Scheme would be completed shortly, he said the project was already connected to the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS), under which five reservoirs and one barrage at Devarakonda, would be constructed. “Once the project is operational, it would significantly alleviate poverty in the area,” he added.

The BRS chief declared that the party would return to power once again and fulfill all its promises to the people of Telangana. He assured to take special measures for the irrigational and industrial development of erstwhile Nalgonda as desired by the locals. He also promised improved educational and health facilities in the district, after the BRS forms the government for third time. He urged the voters to elect the BRS candidates to ensure that the development and welfare continue in the State.
