Major countries seeking to purchase Iranian weapons

Major General Mohammad Bagheri made the remarks on Monday at the specialized conference on Sacred Defense [refers to the era of the imposed war by ex-Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein on Iran (1980–88)] and its role in the national security of Iran and the West Asian region.

“The Sacred Defense provided strength and deterrence for the Iranian nation,” he said, adding that this is a great achievement for Iran.

Bagheri termed the formation of the Resistance front one of the achievements of Sacred Defense.

“When Iran’s Beit-ol-Moqaddas Operation in Imposed War was over, the Israeli regime invaded Lebanon. But the IRGC expanded the foundations of Hezbollah and resistance in Palestine,” he added.

Today, the leaders of the Israeli regime confess that the progress of the Palestinian Resistance and oppressed people has caused them a fundamental problem, and they are talking about their decline, Bagheri noted.

Today, Iran’s ballistic missile power is among the top powers in the world, elsewhere in his remarks he said, adding that this is one of the achievements of the Sacred Defense.

Iran has also become a great drone power that competes with the world’s great powers, he added.

Netanyahu to discuss Iran with US president during trip to US

According to TASS News Agency, the Prime Minister of the Zionist regime,  Benjamin Netanyahu plans to discuss the issue of Iran during the upcoming meeting with US President Joe Biden in the upcoming days, Netanyahu said before departing for the US, according to the government press office.

“I am now leaving for the UN General Assembly where I will represent Israel before the nations of the world,” Netanyahu said as he boarded the plane.

“I will also meet with many world leaders, especially President Biden, with whom I will discuss – first and foremost, but among other topics – Iran and expanding the circle of peace [between Israel and Arab nations],” he added.

Netanyahu falsely claimed, “Iran is violating all of its commitments, that it brazenly lies, and that it intends both to develop nuclear weapons and continue its aggression in the region.”

“We will confront both of these [threats] together. I heard the threats from an official of the Iranian regime today; I suggest that he not threaten us. He and this regime need to know that we will respond forcefully to any attack on our people and our citizens,” he added in continuation of his false statements.

Previously, the Zionist media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Hossein Salami threatened to “cut Israel’s life” if it threatened Iranian security.

Iranian commander’s statement was made after Mossad Director David Barnea harshly threatened Iran.

Israeli forces shoot Palestinian man over alleged stabbing attempt

Israeli police are seen at the Mazmuriyeh checkpoint near East al-Quds after an alleged stabbing attempt on September 18, 2023.

Israeli forces have shot a Palestinian man over an alleged stabbing attempt against the regime’s policemen.

The Israeli police said they shot a 47-year-old Palestinian on Monday morning, claiming that he had drawn a knife on them at the Mazmuriyeh checkpoint near the occupied East al-Quds.

It added that the man was taken by medics to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The exact condition of the injured Palestinian man was not immediately clear.

The alleged stabbing attempt came as tensions have remained high across the occupied West Bank, amid a string of near-nightly raids by the Israeli army and attacks by extremist settlers as well as Palestinian retaliatory operations.

More than 200 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied territories since the start of the year at the hands of Israeli soldiers.

Anti-Netanyahu protesters take to streets for 37th week

Thousands of Zionists took to the streets of Tel Aviv on Sunday for the 37th week of protests against the Israeli regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial reform, following a Supreme Court hearing against interfering with the country’s fundamental laws, Sputnik reported.

On September 12, the Israeli regime’s Supreme Court started considering petitions against the reform approved by the parliament in July, which limits the power of the court to overturn government decisions by declaring them unreasonable. The reform was approved under the opposition’s boycott and amid months-long nationwide protests.

The protests have gained momentum since the end of July, when the Knesset passed the first bill of the overhaul plan, which restricted the Supreme Court’s ability to declare the cabinet’s decisions “unreasonable.”

Reacting to the plan, more than 10,000 Zionist reserve troops, including members of the intelligence unit 8200 and air force pilots, have said they would no longer show up for duty on a voluntary basis. The decision has prompted the Zionist top brass to warn about changes to the regime’s “war-readiness.”

Bahraini social media activist arrested over live coverage of Arba’een

Bahraini forces have reportedly arrested a female social media activist over participation in and live coverage of Arba’een, an annual event that marks the 40th day after the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Imam of Shia Muslims.

According to a report by the Iraqi al-Ghadeer TV television network, the activist, identified as Sheikha al-Majid, was detained following her return from the holy Iraqi city of Karbala to the Bahraini capital of Manama.

She was charged with “sectarianism” due to broadcasting live images while standing in the vicinity of the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), the report added.

Al-Ghadeer TV noted that Bahraini opposition groups and human rights organizations have condemned Majid’s arrest and demanded her immediate release.

Meanwhile, Karim Alivi al-Mohammadavi, a member of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Iraqi Parliament, denounced Majid’s arrest as a direct assault by Bahrain’s ruling Al Khalifah dynasty on Shia Muslims

Mohammadavi said the move conveys the message that the Manama regime does not seek civil peace and spares no effort to create internal chaos and division in any way.

The Iraqi legislator slammed the move as “irresponsible,” calling upon Bahraini authorities to reconsider the Shia activist’s detention and put an end to all heavy-handed measures against members of the majority religious community.

Mohammadavi noted that Iraqi parliamentarians would ask the Foreign Ministry to summon the Bahraini ambassador to Baghdad and submit a protest note to him in case the Al Khalifah regime presses ahead with its crackdown on Shias.

He finally urged the Iraqi government to apply necessary pressure for the release of the Bahraini activist and to obtain firm assurances that such actions would not be repeated again.

UNESCO lists Jericho ruins as World Heritage Site in Palestine

Israel cries foul after a UN conference votes to list the ruins near the ancient West Bank city of Ariha as a “World Heritage Site in Palestine”.

Ariha or Jericho is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities on earth, and is in a part of the West Bank that is administered by the Palestinian Authority.

The listing refers to the Tel es-Sultan archaeological site nearby, which contains prehistoric ruins dating back to the ninth millennium BCE and is outside the ancient city itself.

The vote was held during a meeting of the World Heritage Committee, overseen by the UN cultural agency UNESCO, in the Saudi capital city of Riyadh on Sunday.

It is the fourth site in the occupied West Bank to receive UN recognition as a World Heritage Site. The Church of the Nativity and the pilgrimage route in Bethlehem, the cultural landscape of southern al-Quds and Battir, and the Old City in al-Khalil the other sites.

“The natural resources and strategic location of Ancient Jericho/Tell es-Sultan made it … a major node of human development for millennia,” the Palestinian Tourism and Antiquities Ministry wrote in an executive summary for the committee.

Jericho is one of the world’s oldest continually inhabited places, where excavations have unearthed traces of Neolithic populations and materials from the Early and Middle Bronze Ages.

Palestinians hail designation

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that UNSCO’s decision “testifies to the authenticity and history of the Palestinian people,” adding that “the state of Palestine is committed to preserving this unique site for the benefit of mankind.”

Similarly, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry lauded the designation as an acknowledgment of Jericho’s “cultural, economic, and political significance” and a testament to “10,000 years of human development.”

However, the move drew Israel’s ire, with the regime’s foreign ministry claiming that it was “another sign of the Palestinians’ cynical use of UNESCO and their politicization of it.”

Israel quit UNESCO in 2019, accusing it of being biased against the occupying entity. But Palestine has been a full member of the Paris-based agency since 2011.
