Arab Parliament censures Israel for repeated desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque

The Arab Parliament has condemned repeated desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers under the protection of regime troops.

In a statement released on Monday, the Parliament called for an end to violations against the holy site, respecting its sanctity and the authority of the al-Quds Endowments Administration.

The statement reaffirmed that the mosque with its entire area is a pure place of worship for Muslims and under the Jordan-Run Islamic Waqf Department, which is in charge of al-Aqsa Mosque affairs.

The Arab Parliament said restrictions at Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil and deadly raids by Israeli forces across the occupied territories and attacks on protesters in Gaza amount to “crimes against humanity.”

The Parliament said the Israeli violations provoke more violence and complicate the conflict.

Hundreds of Israeli settlers intruded into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the eve of the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur and provocatively performed rituals and Talmudic prayers.

In defiance of condemnations, Israeli setters continued their provocative actions on Monday.

Israel imposed restrictions at the gates of al-Aqsa to deny Muslim worshipers entry. Regime forces attacked a number of worshipers and drove them out.

Non-Muslim worship at the compound is prohibited according to an agreement between Israel and Jordan following the regime’s seizure of East al-Quds in 1967.

Calls for the regular presence of Jewish extremists in the al-Aqsa Mosque have increased in recent days concurrent with holidays marking the Jewish New Year.

Hamas official says Israel playing with fire

Khaled Meshaal, a former Hamas chief who currently leads the group’s diaspora office, said on Monday that Israel should await a harsh response from resistance groups in Palestine because of its support for the increased presence of Jewish extremists at the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Meshaal said the surge in the incursions is a plot supported by the Israeli hawkish administration to eventually destroy the mosque and build a temple there instead, Press TV reported.

He said the number of settlers trespassing on the compounds of al-Aqsa Mosque has doubled since 2017, adding that the regime has been clearly emboldened by its success in normalizing diplomatic ties with certain Arab and Muslim countries.

Meshaal said, however, that resistance groups across the occupied Palestinian territories will give a decisive response to the regime to neutralize its plots and conspiracies.

He advised countries seeking normalization with Israel to correct their mistakes, adding that closer ties with the regime would pose a serious threat to Palestine and the Arab world.

He further called on Palestinians to hold sit-ins at al-Aqsa Mosque, while urging Arab countries to take action against Israel’s crimes.

‘Ignoring spirituality leads to forming extremist groups’

Addressing the 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World in Doha, Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaili said that what the world needs currently is morality and spirituality.

Desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden and other parts of the globe has indicated that those who are opposed to Islamic unity resort to some measures to create a rift among Islamic nations, he asserted.

The Iranian minister called on the participating countries in the conference to take immediate steps to support the Palestinians in the face of the child-killing and blood-thirsty Zionist Israeli regime.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he suggested that a secretariat for cultural dialogue be set up under the umbrella of the secretariat of ISESCO, which is a specialized organization concerned with fields of education, science, culture, and communication in Islamic countries to bolster relations among 54 member states.

He voiced Iran’s readiness to host the first round of the cultural dialogue in that regard.

The 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World is underway under the theme “Toward renewing cultural action in the Islamic world”.

The two-day conference will discuss the main principles of cultural policy and indicators of sustainable development, mechanisms for developing the “Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” program, and the expansion of joint cultural activities in combating the illegal trafficking of cultural heritage.

The event will also review the nomination document submitted by Azerbaijan to declare the city of Shusha, the cradle of art and culture of Azerbaijan, as the “Cultural Capital of the Islamic World” for 2024.

Israel playing with fire by supporting al-Aqsa incursions: Hamas

Head of Hamas’ diaspora office Khaled Meshaal

A senior leader of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says Israel is playing with fire by allowing extremists to frequent al-Aqsa Mosque, a place viewed as one of holiest sites in Islam.

Khaled Meshaal, a former Hamas chief who currently leads the group’s diaspora office, said on Monday that Israel should await a harsh response from resistance groups in Palestine because of its support for the increased presence of Jewish extremists a the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Meshaal said the surge in the incursions is a plot supported by the Israeli hawkish administration to eventually destroy the mosque and build a temple instead.

He said the number of settlers trespassing on the compounds of al-Aqsa Mosque have doubled since 2017, adding that the regime has been clearly emboldened by its success in normalizing diplomatic ties with certain Arab and Muslim countries.

Meshaal said, however, that resistance groups across the occupied Palestinian territories will give a decisive response to the regime to neutralize its plots and conspiracies.

“The resistance will not allow encroachment on al-Aqsa and this confrontation will be the biggest response to the crimes of the occupying enemy. The enemy is playing with fire … the resistance is capable of neutralizing the occupying regime’s plots and schemes,” he said.

Calls for regular presence of Jewish extremists in al-Aqsa Mosque, located in the occupied city of al-Quds, have increased in recent days concurrent with holidays marking the Jewish New Year.

The incursions come as praying and holding religious rituals in the Mosque is regarded as an exclusive right for the Muslims.

The incursions have caused further tension in the Palestinian territories, especially in the occupied West Bank, where resistance groups have ramped up their retaliatory attacks on Israeli settlers and military forces in recent weeks.

Gaza arson balloons force Zionist regime to reinforce troops

The regime’s military said it was reinforcing troops along the Gaza Strip border Sunday, as tensions rise along the frontier and as incendiary balloons sparked fresh fires in the occupied lands.

“In line with a situational assessment, it was decided to add a battalion to the Gaza Division,” the Israel military said according to Times of Israel.

War Minister Yoav Gallant toured the border region Sunday along with Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, and the two met top commanders to review the latest developments.

On Saturday, the military carried out an airstrike on a Hamas position in the Gaza Strip following the latest attack along the border which included gunfire toward the regime’s army forces.

The Israeli military said a drone struck the post, located near the scene of the day’s attack.

Dozens of Palestinians gathered along the border with the occupying Israeli regime earlier that day, in what has become a daily occurrence.

The Palestinian youth burned tires and hurled makeshift bombs, and gunmen fired toward the usurping regime’s forces along the border.

Also Sunday, three Palestinian resistance groups announced plans to intensify their fight against the occupying regime and to increase cooperation between them.

Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine made the statement after a meeting of top officials in Beirut.

Condemnations pour in over Israeli incursions into al-Aqsa

Condemnations have poured in over the “provocative” incursions of al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest site, by Israeli settlers under the protection of the regime’s forces.

In a statement on Sunday, Egypt’s foreign ministry said the incursions of al-Aqsa Mosque compound by settlers under the protection of Israeli forces are “a new episode of a series of escalatory measures that provoke the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.”

The ministry warned that such moves could fuel violence and tensions in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Cairo also urged the Israeli regime to “stop such escalatory practices” that represent a “blatant violation of the legal and historical status-quo of al-Quds city” and its holy sites.

It also urged “influential international parties” to shoulder their responsibility to protect the sanctities of the Palestinian nation and their legitimate rights, especially their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with East al-Quds as its capital.

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister also denounced “the repetition of provocative practices” by a number of “extremists” under the protection of Israeli forces in a statement on Sunday.

The ministry said such Israeli actions “undermine international peace efforts” and “contradict international principles and norms” regarding the respect of religious sanctities.

The statement reiterated the kingdom’s support for the “brotherly” Palestinian nation, and for efforts aimed at ending the Israeli occupation and reaching “a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause that enables the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East al-Quds as its capital.”

Also on Sunday, Qatar emphasized that the incursions are “a blatant violation of international law.”

Qatar’s foreign ministry stressed that the attempts to change the status quo of the al-Aqsa “is not an aggression on Palestinians alone but on millions of Muslims around the world.”

Doha held Israel responsible for any rise in violence, urging the international community to take immediate action to stop such aggressions.

The statements came as hundreds of settlers stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound on the eve of the so-called Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur and provocatively performed rituals and Talmudic prayers there.

In defiance of the condemnations, Israeli setters continued their provocative actions on Monday, storming the al-Aqsa Mosque compound once again under the protection of Israeli forces.

Israel also imposed restrictions at the gates of al-Aqsa to prevent Muslim worshipers from entering the mosque.

In the meantime, Israeli forces attacked a number of worshipers and drove them out of the mosque.

The Israeli raids and restrictions also drew strong condemnation from the Arab Parliament on Monday.

The parliament stressed that the incursions could increase violence and escalate the conflict.

Referring to the growing Israeli violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the besieged Gaza Strip, the parliament described the Tel Aviv regime’s practices as “crimes against humanity.”

The parliament also held Israel responsible for any increased tensions, calling on the United Nations and the UN Security Council as well as international institutions to exert pressure on Israel to “stop its crimes and repeated violations” against the Palestinians.

Israelis have been engaged in provocative intrusions into the Mosque, one of the holiest Muslim sites in the world located in the occupied city of al-Quds, in recent months in what many believe is a plot to divide the Mosque and to turn parts of it to a Jewish temple.

Palestinian teenager martyred for injuries sustained in Gaza

On Sunday, the Palestinian health ministry said 18-year-old Majdi Ghabayen succumbed to injuries he sustained during a protest that was held along the fence separating Gaza from the occupied territories on September 13 in support of al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Popular Resistance Committees and its military wing al-Nasser Salah al-Deen Brigades mourned Ghabayen, noting that he was one of its fighters who was injured in an accidental explosion that took place during the protests.

On September 13, five Palestinians were killed and more than 10 others injured due to the accidental explosion.

Palestinians have been protesting in eastern Gaza since September 13 almost on a daily basis to show support for al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, amid rising acts of violence by Zionist forces and settlers.

Zionists have been engaged in provocative intrusions into the Mosque, one of the holiest Muslim sites in the world located in occupied east al-Quds, in recent months in what many believe is a plot to divide the mosque and to turn parts of it into a Jewish temple.

The demonstrators also show their solidarity with Palestinians held in Zionist jails and call for an end to the crippling Israeli siege on Gaza.

Gaza, home to about two million Palestinians, has been under Zionist siege since June 2007. The tight blockade has caused a decline in the standards of living as well as unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty.

Seven Palestinians have so far been killed and dozens of others injured at the hands of Zionist forces who attacked the protests in eastern Gaza.
