Raeisi hails Palestinian op. for making Islamic Umma happy

In the phone call on Sunday afternoon, Raeisi praised the courageous and victorious operations of the Palestinian Mujahideen in the occupied territories and considered the authority, dignity and pride of the Palestinian resistance to be the pride of the Islamic Ummah.

Stating that the unwavering will of the Palestinian nation and the mujahidin on the path towards God promises the final victory of the Palestinians over the usurping Zionist regime, the president clarified, “What happened with the victorious operation of the Palestinian mujahidin in the occupied territories is the materialization of the 70-year long-awaited dream of the Palestinian nation and the Islamic nation.”

“God willing, we will soon say prayers together in Al-Aqsa Mosque,” he asserted.

Ismail Haniyeh, for his part, tanked the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation on behalf of the Palestinian Mujahideen and the Palestinian nation for support to the Palestinian resistance.

The head of Hamas’s Political Bureau further presented a report on the various aspects of the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, cited the aggression and insult of the Zionist enemy to the holy area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian worshipers as one of the main reasons for carrying out the operation.

Haniyeh said that in the ongoing battle, despite the lack of equipment and facilities, the Palestinian Mujahideen were able to disrupt the order in the Zionist regime by their surprise large-scale operation.

Haniyeh stressed, “What has been achieved on the battlefield against the Zionist enemy has been thanks to blessings of God, the support of the Islamic Ummah, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is at the top of all, and God willing, it will end up with the final victory of the Palestinian nation.”

Raeisi’s phone conversation with Islamic Jihad secretary general:

In the telephone conversation with Ziyad Nakhala, president Raeisi said that “What happened in the occupied territories and in the battle with the usurping Zionist regime was a huge and unique event in the past 70 years, and you really made the Islamic nation happy with this innovative and victorious operation.”

Raeisi went on to state that the Zionist regime is collapsing and the Resistance Front is conquering the apex of victory, and clarified, “We consider the final victory of the Palestinian nation to be a divine promise, and the Iranian nation is always standing by the freedom-loving and independent nations, and the Palestinian freedom-loving nation is at the top of them.”

The Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, for his part, expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of the Palestinian people for the support of the Leadership, government and people of Iran in the telephone conversation.

Nakhala presented a report on the achievements of the resistance forces in the occupied territories and the situation of the Zionist enemy, saying, “With the help of God, these blessed days and these victories will continue with strength, and the Palestinian nation is steadfast in the path of resistance.

Israel has no one to blame but itself for war with Palestinians: Lawmaker

Rockets are fired by Hamas from the besieged Gaza Strip toward the occupied territories during Operation al-Aqsa Storm, October 7, 2023.

Israel has no one to blame but itself for the war with the Palestinians, says a lawmaker of the regime, insisting that the illegal occupation of the Palestinian land has caused the situation to escalate.

Ofer Cassif, a member of the Knesset and leftist Hadash coalition, told Al Jazeera on Sunday that his party had repeatedly warned the regime authorities that the way they treated the Palestinians would have serious repercussions.

“We have been warning time and time again… everything is going to erupt and everybody is going to pay a price… And unfortunately, that is exactly what happened,” said Cassif, whose party has four seats in the 120-member parliament.

The “fascist” regime, he said, “supports, encourages, and leads pogroms against the Palestinians.”

“There is an ethnic cleansing going on. It was obvious the writing was on the wall, written in the blood of the Palestinians.”

Some sources say more than 750 Israelis have been killed since early Saturday, when the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched massive rocket attacks and a ground operation from its bases in the Gaza Strip into the occupied territories.

Hamas says Operation al-Aqsa Storm is a response to Israel’s growing acts of aggression against the Palestinians, especially in the occupied West Bank, and its support for the recurrent presence of settlers in the al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied Quds.

Scores of Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza, a besieged enclave on the Mediterranean, since the regime started to respond to Hamas attacks on Saturday.

Resistance to definitely win in Al-Aqsa Storm operation

Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan made the remarks on Sunday, saying that God willing, victory will be achieved by the Axes of Resistance.

On Saturday, the Gaza-based Hamas Resistance movement launched aerial, sea, and ground attacks on the occupied Palestinian territories, including at least 5,000 rockets in the initial phase of the operation.

The unprecedented Palestinian operation came in retaliation to the Israeli desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque as well as a series of assaults against women in the compound of the mosque.

The regime media have cited the medical sources as saying that the Zionists’ death toll has risen to 750 while over 2,048 were wounded and apparently dozens were taken hostage by the Hamas Resistance group across the border to the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian fighters and youth liberated several Zionist illegal settlements and seized jeeps, tanks, and armored vehicles while Zionist settlers were seen running away or hiding in shelters or even trash containers.

‘Siege is broken’: Social media reacts to Palestinian operation against Israel

By Press TV Staff Writer

The unprecedented military operation by the Palestinian resistance movement against the apartheid Israeli regime, launched on Saturday morning, has shaken and exposed the fragility of the regime.

Images of marauding Israeli soldiers and settlers running for cover amid a wave of rocket attacks by the Gaza-based Hamas resistance group have been circulating widely on social media networks.

More than 300 Israelis have already been declared dead and many more continue to be in critical state. Hundreds of Israeli soldiers and settlers are also currently languishing in Palestinian custody.

Social media has been abuzz since Saturday with posts hailing the Al-Aqsa Storm operation, also known as the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, which was launched by Hamas in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

Joseph Bahout, Director of Lebanon-based Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy & International Affairs (IFI), shared a video of Israeli settlers running frantically as rockets pounded the occupied territories.

“Scenes of Israeli settlers hectically fleeing surroundings of Gaza will surely become images haunting the debates to come; at least on the psycho-symbolic level, something has shifted in the balance of power with #Palestinian factions as of now,” he tweeted.

The images of panic-stricken Israeli settlers, who have illegally occupied Palestinian lands and homes, running for cover, were shared by many human rights activists and journalists on social media.

The panic was evident, not only on the faces of illegal settlers but also on the regime officials. Bel Trew, The Independent’s chief international correspondent, said the Israeli army told her that it was “the worst day” for them ever recorded as the death toll mounted.

Trew’s The Independent as well as other mainstream media outlets tried hard to vilify the Palestinian resistance groups for launching the attack on the occupied territories while shielding the occupier.

Chris Williamson, the former British lawmaker and host of Press TV’s weekly show Palestine Declassified, took to his X (Twitter) page to slam the “appallingly one-sided” coverage of the BBC network.

He reminded the Western media of key points, which include that the Israeli regime “is in breach of international law”, Palestinians are “fighting to liberate their homeland from 75 years of Israeli oppression and terrorism”, the Israel military and settlers are the “militant” and Palestinians are freedom fighters, armed struggle is legitimate under international law and the regime has been “abducting Palestinians for many years” with over 1,000 Palestinians in Israeli jails currently.

The video of Palestinians with bulldozers razing down the separation wall on the Gaza Strip border was widely shared by social media users, with some writing that “Gaza had broken the prison.”

“The siege is broken! I repeat the siege is broken,” wrote one user, adding that the Erez military checkpoint is officially open in both directions into and outside the Gaza Strip.

Nadi Abusaada, a historian and architect from Ramallah, shared a video of Palestinians in Gaza breaking down the separation wall erected by the Israeli regime, saying “colonialism stifles imagination.”

“Today, as Palestinians break down colonial barriers, they breathe life into the dream of an open, liberated geography, sharing a video of resistance fighters breaking the barriers set up by the regime,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Some Zionism apologists expressed concern over Palestinian resistance fighters holding Israeli settlers as prisoners, saying it was in breach of international human rights conventions.

Sharmine Narwani, a Beirut-based columnist with The Cradle, had a fitting answer for them.

“In case anyone feels sorry for Israeli settlers taking a Palestinian whacking today. Don’t,” Narwani wrote, sharing a screenshot of a New York Times story with the headline: ‘Israelis watch bombs drop on Gaza from front-row seats.”

Calling out the blatant hypocrisy of white men, Narwani in another tweet drew parallels between reactions when Israelis massacre Palestinians and when Palestinians retaliate.

When Israelis massacre Palestinians: “Mow down the terrorists, level Gaza, poor Israel, send weapons.” When Palestinians RETALIATE: “Come on now, talk with each other, violence is unhelpful, two wrongs don’t make a right, you are barbarians,” she wrote.

Dilly Hussain, a London-based journalist and columnist, shot back at Keir Starmer, Leader of the British Labour Party, who “condemned” what he called Palestinian “attacks on Israel.”

“I utterly condemn the 75 years of occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine and her citizens, he wrote. “There is no justification for this act of terror which is being perpetrated by those who seek to undermine any chance for future peace in the region.”

Hussain hastened to add that Palestinians “have a right to defend themselves,” echoing many others who reminded the world of who the occupier is and who the occupier is.

Mick Wallace, Member of the European Parliament, reacted strongly to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s tweet, in which she accused Hamas of attacking Israel.

“The vast majority of the people of Europe do not support the brutal Apartheid State of Israel  – The vast majority of the people of Europe support the people of Palestine who have been persecuted + terrorized by Israel for so many years – If only the EU was a real democracy,” he wrote.

Lowkey, a podcaster and music artist, provided a glimpse of the Israeli regime’s barbarism, sharing an image of the Al Amin Muhammad Mosque in Khan Yunis reduced to rubble.

Amer Zahr, a Dearborn-based Palestinian writer, said the regime has cut off electricity to Gaza.

“Just in case you’re one of those people that says, “Israel doesn’t occupy Gaza. Hamas is in control.” Occupation will always be met with justified resistance,” he wrote.

Gazan writer and analyst, Muhammad Shehada, shared the front page of The Mail with the headline ‘Don’t kill me,” showing a woman who was among those held by Palestinian fighters on Saturday.

“She wasn’t murdered, raped or abused. Footage showed her moments later safe in Gaza,” he wrote.

“Se was taken captive as a “bargaining chip” to free 1000s Palestinians whom Israel detains without charges, evidence or trial (aka administrative detention). Both violate int. law!”

Mohammed el-Kurd, a writer from occupied al-Quds, said much of what is currently unfolding in the occupied Palestinian territories “will be in future history books as an example of revolutionary struggle.”

“Waiting until the history books tell you what to celebrate is easy. It’s much harder to stand on the right side of history as it unfolds in real time,” he wrote, reminding the world which side Palestinians are on.

A social media user cited Malcolm X to explain what he thinks of the Palestinian struggle.

“If you are not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”

In warning to Israel, Iran’s Raeisi says warmongering detrimental to Zionists

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi

President Ebrahim Raeisi of Iran has warned Israel that the regional equation has changed and warmongering would be detrimental to the Zionists.

The Iranian president made the remark in a message on Sunday, a day after the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas launched a grand operation without precedent in scale using a heavy barrage of rockets in response to Israel’s desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque and increased settler violence.

“Undoubtedly, the Zionist regime and its supporters are responsible for jeopardizing regional security and must be held accountable.”

President Raeisi urged the Muslim community to stand by the Palestinian people in their struggle against Israel.

The Iranian president also hailed the operation by the resilient Palestinians, which, he said, stoked fear and astonishment throughout the “world of cruelty.”

“Iran invites the whole world to observe the fact that the accumulation of oppression and injustice towards the oppressed Palestinian nation, the continuation of insult to women and prisoners, and the desecration of al-Quds and the first ‘Qibla’ of Muslims, will not last forever and are certain to face the resistance of nations.”

Raeisi reiterated Iran’s support for the legitimate defense of the Palestinian people.

At least 400 Israeli settlers and troops have been killed as a result of Operation al-Aqsa Storm. More than 2,000 Israelis have also been injured.

In the wake of the Palestinian operation, a spokesperson for the Israeli military confirmed that settlers and soldiers are held captive in Gaza. But the spokesperson declined to specify any exact number.

Israeli media outlets say by unofficial estimates approximately 750 Israeli soldiers and settlers have been missing.

And in the Gaza Strip hospital officials have recorded the death of 320 Palestinians and the injury of nearly 2,000 others. A large number of buildings, homes, and public facilities have also been badly damaged due to heavy Israeli bombardments.

‘Our guns and rockets are with you’: Hezbollah tells Palestinian fighters

A high-ranking official with Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement says the group’s “guns and rockets” are with Palestinian fighters who carried out a surprise offensive against Israeli-occupied territories.

Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, head of the Executive Council of Hezbollah, made the remarks at an event in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh in solidarity with the Palestinian fighters on Sunday.

“Our history, our guns and our rockets are with you. Everything we have is with you,” Safieddine said.

On Saturday, fighters from the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas broke out of the fences separating Gaza and illegally occupied territories and infiltrated a number of towns and settlements. A heavy barrage of rockets was also fired from the Gaza Strip.

According to Israeli media, at least 200 Israelis have been killed and over 1,100 injured following the large-scale operation.

The Israeli military has also confirmed that a “substantial” number of soldiers and settlers were captured by Hamas and taken into Gaza.

Following the surprise attack, Hezbollah fired shells and guided missiles toward Israeli-occupied territories, targeting the Radar, Zabdin, and Ruwaysat Al-Alam sites in the Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms.

Israel strikes Lebanon after Hezbollah hits Shebaa Farms

Also on Sunday, Israel fired a barrage of artillery shells into southern Lebanon after Hezbollah targeted three Israeli military positions in the Shebaa Farms.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The Israeli military said its artillery “is currently striking the area in Lebanon from where a shooting was carried out.”

It further said that one of its drones struck a Hezbollah post in Shebaa Farms.

The spokesman for the Israeli military Daniel Hagari also said that the military remained on high alert.

Andrea Tenenti, the spokesman of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said the UN peacekeeping mission has detected several rockets fired from southeast Lebanon toward Israeli-occupied territory” as well as artillery fire from Israel into Lebanon in response.

He also said that UNIFIL is in contact with authorities on both sides of the blue line, a temporary line drawn after the withdrawal of Israel from south Lebanon in 2,000, to contain the situation and avoid a more serious escalation.

Iran backs Palestinian people in their legitimate defense

In his message released on Sunday, Ebrahim Raeisi said that Iran invites the world to observe the fact that oppression and injustice exercised against the oppressed Palestinian nation, the continuation of insults and desecration to women and prisoners, and the desecration of holy Quds, the first Qibla of Muslims cannot continue forever.

“Iran supports the Palestinian nation’s legitimate defense. The Zionist regime and its backers bear responsibility for endangering the security of the nations of the region, and they must be held to account for this,” the president added.

“Muslim governments should join the Islamic Umma in supporting the Palestinian nation in an honest manner,” he added.

The Zionist enemy should also know that the balance of power has changed; Warmongering will not serve the Zionists. The Palestinian nation is the winner on this battlefield,” he added.

At the end of his message, Raeisi offered greetings to the Resistance forces in the entire region including from Palestine, Lebanon and Syria to Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen, and recalled the efforts made by Martyr Qassem Soleimani and late Imam Khomeini and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in support of the Resistance.

Zionists death toll rises to 750 as war on Gaza declared

The Israeli regime military was engaged in a massive build-up of forces Saturday night, calling up large numbers of reservists and preparing for war as it continued to reel from one of the darkest days in the fake regime’s history.

The regime media have cited the medical sources as saying that the Zionists’ death toll has risen to 750 while over 2,048 were wounded and apparently dozens were taken hostage by the Hamas Resistance group across the border to the Gaza Strip.

Israel’s Channel 13 has said that the number of Zionists killed has increased to 750, including both military and unarmed people.

Major airlines canceled dozens of flights to Tel Aviv this weekend after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance movement launched a surprise large-scale attack against the Zionists regime.

Concurrently, barrages of rockets continued to rain down on southern and central Israel, regularly sending hundreds of thousands of people running to shelters. Several people were wounded by rockets that evaded the Iron Dome defense system and smashed into towns. Some were seriously hurt.

Today, the Hebrew-language newspaper JPost wrote in a report that according to unofficial estimates, 750 Zionists have disappeared since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation by the Palestinian Resistance on Saturday.

The fake regime’s army is pounding Gaza with the Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip saying that the number of martyrs in Israeli airstrikes in the enclave increased to 572 martyrs as of Sunday afternoon.

Netanyahu security cabinet authorizes war on Gaza:

The security cabinet voted last night to put the regime officially at war, and it can carry out “significant military activities,” the Prime Minister’s Office announced. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already said the regime was at war after Hamas fighters infiltrated southern occupied lands as part of Al-Aqsa Sorm Operation launched yesterday.

Consequences of Al-Aqsa Storm operation for Israeli regime

The most important feature of Saturday morning’s all-out attack by Hamas forces on the Zionist settlements around Gaza, which resulted in the death of hundreds of Zionists, was the element of surprise. Of course, recently, at the same time as the Jewish religious holiday, the Zionists’ attacks on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the eastern neighborhood of al-Quds had increased, with settlers in the West Bank using every opportunity to attack the West Bank cities and set fire to the properties of the Palestinians. In such a situation, Zionist officials did not expect a reaction from the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza, assuming that they had been able to control Hamas through political and economic means.

Since Operation Al-Quds Sword, the Zionist officials focused on creating discord among the Palestinian Resistance groups, thinking that this time they had succeeded in doing so. Furthermore, the Zionists believed that Hamas could not take action against Tel Aviv due to the difficult conditions caused by the siege and the movement’s need for the northern crossings to be open to receive supplies.

Meanwhile, the exaggerated image of Zionist intelligence services was also crushed, with the attacks proving that the Zionists have no intelligence superiority over their enemies.

In the first place, after the end of these conflicts, we should wait for an earthquake in the military and intelligence apparatus of the Zionist regime as in the 33-day war, because they were unable to predict such an attack (the arrival of a thousand commandos and the firing of 2200 missiles in less than an hour). Israeli regime’s ground force also retreated like an amateur military and hundreds of Zionists, including settlers and military forces, were detained.

In the second place, the attack will lead to the end of the political life of the Zionist regime’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In order to remain in power and to be immune from judicial investigations, Netanyahu practically polarized the political atmosphere of Israel, and this political instability was one of the reasons motivating the Palestinian fighters for this daring historical attack. Probably Netanyahu’s current cabinet, who themselves are one of the reasons behind this war due to their provocative actions in Al-Aqsa Mosque, will collapse.

At the foreign level, in the first place, the normalization project as the first agenda of the regime will suffer a major disruption, because on the one hand, the Arab states of the Persian Gulf, can no longer easily normalize with Zionists because of their internal legitimacy. On the other hand, Joe Biden’s administration, which had made major efforts to bring the normalization negotiations between Saudi Arabia and the Israeli regime to a conclusion with the aim of gaining the vote of Jews in the elections, now needs to provide another explanation to the Jewish lobby about the state of peace in the region.

Apart from the intelligence, military, and internal and foreign policy fields, the Zionists have suffered a big defeat in the field of soft power, because their false powerful image completely collapsed. In addition,  such an attack will also intensify the process of reverse migration from the occupied territories and make the settlers seriously doubt about continuing to stay in occupied Palestine.

The Palestinian Resistance fighters staged a surprise, large-scale operation early Saturday in response to the desecration of al-Aqsa Mosque and increased settler violence.

Reports say hundreds of Zionists have been killed and over 1,100 injured as a result of the surprise Palestinian attack that was launched on Saturday. The operation combined fighters crossing the fence into Israeli-occupied cities with a heavy barrage of rockets from the besieged Gaza Strip.

In response to the Palestinians’ operation, the Israeli regime carried out heavy bombardment across the besieged Gaza Strip which according to Palestinian medical authorities killed nearly 200 people and injured 1,610 others.

Hezbollah, Israel exchange fire as regional tensions rise

Israeli soldiers battled Hamas Resistance forces in the streets of Southern Occupied Lands on Sunday, October 8, and exchanged strikes with Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group in the north, Lemonde reports.

The prospect of Hezbollah joining the fighting a day after an unprecedented surprise attack from Gaza by the Palestinian Resistance raises the chances of a broader conflict.

It is the bloodiest escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict in decades.

Israel’s Channel 13 has said that the number of Zionists killed has increased to 600, including both military and unarmed people.

Today, the Hebrew-language newspaper JPost wrote in a report that according to unofficial estimates, 750 Zionists have disappeared since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation by the Palestinian Resistance on Saturday.

The conflict took a new turn on Sunday morning when Lebanon’s Hezbollah group claimed responsibility for mortar strikes from Lebanon into northern Israel’s Shebaa Farms area and expressed solidarity with the Palestinians.
