Israel poured bombs on Palestine kids as gift on Children Day

In a post on his X account on Tuesday, Nasser Kan’ani said that the occupying entity has killed dozens of Palestinian children in its aerial assaults on the besieged Gaza Strip.

“On Children’s Day (October 8), the child-killing Israeli regime gave Palestinian children in Gaza gifts made of bombs, missiles, and fire, and it took the lives of more than 90 innocent children in the past two days,” he wrote, referring to the date that is celebrated annually in Iran under the aegis of UNICEF in honor of children.

“The bright future of Palestine lies in the hands of today’s children who will make the future of this land. This is what the usurping Zionist regime has always been afraid of,” Kan’ani added.

He also emphasized that all children have the right to live without discrimination based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

The Iranian diplomat attached to his post the pictures of Palestinian fathers holding their slain children in their arms.

Israel launched deadly strikes on the densely-populated Gaza Strip on Saturday after the Palestinian Hamas resistance group waged a surprise attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the usurping entity.

Hamas said that its operation came in response to Israel’s violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East al-Quds and growing settler violence.

The Gaza Health Ministry said 704 Palestinians, including 143 children and 105 women, have been killed by Israeli strikes.

Iran says the Palestinian operation is a natural and legitimate response to the Tel Aviv regime’s crimes against the oppressed nation.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says the child-killing Israeli regime poured lethal bombs and missiles on Palestinian kids as gifts on Children’s Day.

Two Palestinian journalists killed as Israeli jets strike western Gaza

At least two Palestinian journalists have been killed and another sustained injuries after Israeli military aircraft launched a new wave of aerial raids against targets across the besieged Gaza Strip.

Journalists Saeed al-Taweel and Mohammad Sobh were killed in the airstrike on a residential building in western parts of the enclave early on Tuesday, while they were covering the evacuation of a threatened building.

Another journalist who was with them, Hisham al-Nawajha, was injured and is currently receiving treatment, according to a written statement by Salama Marouf, the head of the Media Office in Gaza.

The office said both Taweel and Sobh were clearly identifiable as press members. They were wearing safety gear and distinctive journalist markings, which the office said should have been easily discernible to the aircraft.

“Hours earlier, we had cautioned about the occupation’s aggressive intentions towards journalists and media entities, especially after several media headquarters were alerted to evacuate. This appears to be an attempt to muffle the truths they report,” the statement said.

Earlier on Monday evening, the Committee to Protect Journalists reported that three other Palestinian journalists had been killed since the breakout of hostilities.

One was wounded and two others were reported missing since Saturday.

Number of displaced people in Gaza exceeds 187,518: UN

Meanwhile, the UN humanitarian relief agency says mass displacement has escalated in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, with more than 187,518 Palestinians believed to have fled their homes.

The number is expected to increase as Israeli bombardment of the enclave continues.

The UN said over 137,427 of the displaced people are taking shelter in schools run by the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), but the facilities are nearing capacity as Israel continues its heavy bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip.

The world body further said the fighting has already forced the UNRWA to close all 14 food distribution centers in Gaza, leaving half a million people without vital food aid.

Since strikes began in Gaza on October 7, 13 healthcare facilities have been hit.

Israeli airstrikes have also damaged three facilities used for water, sanitation and hygiene, undermining services to over 400,000 in Gaza City and the northern area of the Gaza Strip, the UN also said.

Russia accuses US of inflaming tensions

Meanwhile, Russia has accused the United States of “a destructive approach” to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“I cannot but fail to mention the destructive policy of the United States which thwarts collective efforts within the framework of the [so-called] Quartet of international mediators,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters after meeting in Moscow with Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit.

He said the US wanted to “monopolize” dialogue between Palestinians and Israelis, with the aim of moving away from the creation of a Palestinian state, and instead focusing on the socio-economic problems of Palestinians.

Palestinian medical authorities say more than 700 people have been killed and many more injured as a result of Israeli bombardment across the Gaza Strip.

Hospital officials in the Strip have recorded the death of 704 civilians and injury of nearly 4,000 others. Many buildings, homes and public facilities have also been badly damaged due to heavy Israeli bombardments.

Death toll tops 700 in Gaza following heavy Israeli attacks

On Saturday, Palestinian Resistance group Hamas launched a large-scale operation with a heavy barrage of rockets in response to the Israeli regime’s desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and increased settler violence. The Israeli regime’s military forces also announced it was launching Operation ‘Iron Swords’ in retaliation for the attack.

On Sunday night, Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voted to put the regime officially at war.

The death toll from the Palestinian side and the Zionist side are increasing dramatically as the conflict between them continues.

The following are the latest updates:

Gaza health ministry appeals for ‘safe corridor’ for medical aid

The Palestinian health ministry in Gaza has called for the opening of a “safe corridor to ensure the entry of urgent medical aid” into the territory’s hospitals, which are now overwhelmed with the dead and wounded.

It said Zionist forces targeted four ambulances east of the city of Khan Younis overnight and that the bombing of the city of Beit Hanoun has put its only hospital out of service, according to Aljazeera.

“There continues to be a lack of electricity to operate the health care system. This threatens the lives of all sick and injured people,” the health ministry added in a separate statement.

US says has no plans to send ground troops to occupied Palestine

The US has no intention to send ground troops to occupied Palestine amid its war with the Palestinian group Hamas, the White House said Monday.

“There’s no intention to put US troops on the ground,” Anadolu Agency quoted White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby as saying.

Hamas says goals of operation achieved, open to talks

Palestinian Hamas movement has achieved the goals of its operation in the occupied land and now it is open to any discussions, a member of the movement’s political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouq said on Tuesday, Sputnik reported.

“We have achieved our goals … We are open to any discussions and political dialogue,” Abu Marzouq told a regional broadcaster, adding that the movement is “not closed to negotiations.”

Three journalists killed, injured during Zionist regime airstrikes

Palestinian local sources reported that following an airstrike conducted by the Israeli regime on a building in Gaza, two journalists were killed and another one was injured.

Hamas: No negotiations on Israeli captives under fire, regime must pay high price

Palestinian Hamas resistance movement says the ongoing operation against Israel will continue, while rejecting any negotiations on Israeli captives as long as the regime’s attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip continue.

Abu Ubaida, the spokesman for the Gaza Strip-based movement’s military wing, al-Qassam Brigades, made the remark in a late Monday recorded message.

Warning that the Israeli regime must be ready to pay a high price in exchange for the captives’ freedom, the spokesman said, “The matter of prisoners is a strategically crucial issue with a well-defined trajectory, and the occupation will inevitably bear the consequences.”

He noted that the resistance fighters have succeeded in apprehending a significant number of the enemy’s soldiers at various battlefronts, who have been relocated to al-Qassam Brigades’ detention facilities.

“We categorically refuse to engage in deliberations or negotiations regarding prisoners’ matters under the duress of aggression, and the enemy must prepare to pay the price,” he asserted.

Abu Ubaida noted that Hamas has launched the military operation against Israel with unwavering resolve and courage, is fully aware of the potential outcomes, and is also prepared for any eventuality.

“Despite the enemy’s possession of advanced security and military technology, they have failed to confront our fighters on the ground for over 60 hours,” the al-Qassam spokesman said.

He emphasized that the resistance fighters will continue their large-scale operation across multiple locations with the constant rotation of forces, the dispatch of reinforcements armed with weapons and equipment, and the capture of more prisoners.

Abu Ubaida said Hamas fighters have engaged in unrelenting clashes, culminating in the defeat of the entire Gaza division of the occupation army on the first day.

He explained that Operation al-Aqsa Storm came after the Zionist regime’s repression of Palestinians had reached its peak through the desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

“The enemy thought that by closing the al-Aqsa Mosque to our people and releasing herds of settlers to ignite a religious war… they would escape punishment for their crimes,” Abu Ubaida said.

He also criticized the international community and the United Nations for ignoring Israel’s crimes, saying that the large-scale operation against Israel was a response to the occupying regime’s acts of aggression against Palestinians.

Ubaida warned the Israeli regime that the “era of your triumphs has irrevocably ended, giving way to an era of defeat and setbacks.”

The al-Qassam Brigades maintain a firm grip on the direction of the battle, underpinned by an efficient command and control system, and are fully prepared to endure for an extended duration, he pointed out.

Since Saturday, the Gaza Strip-based resistance groups have fired thousands of rockets at the occupied territories. According to Israeli media outlets, more than 900 settlers and troops have been killed, with over 2,600 others injured as a result.

Earlier on Monday, Hamas lauded the ongoing surprise attack against Israel as a “legitimate right” of the Palestinians in response to the illegal entity’s decades-long aggression and the silence of the international community.

“The battle of Operation al-Aqsa Storm is a legitimate right for our people to defend themselves, their land, and their sanctities, in light of the continued aggression of the occupation and the silence and failure of the world to put an end to its escalating terrorism, and its denial of all the rights of our people and their aspirations to liberate their land and achieve a return to it,” the movement said in a statement.

Hezbollah strikes Israel’s military posts after 3 fighters killed in regime shelling

This combo photo released by al-Manar television network shows three fighters of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, who were killed in an Israeli act of aggression on Monday, October 9, 2023.

The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement says it has struck two Israeli military posts in the northern part of the occupied territories in response to the regime’s earlier aggression in South Lebanon, which left three of its fighters dead.

“After the martyrdom of three of our … brothers this afternoon as a result of Israeli attacks on Lebanese towns and villages, groups from the Islamic Resistance have carried out an initial response,” the movement said in a statement carried by Lebanon’s al-Manar television network.

The statement added that Hezbollah’s response targeted “the Braniat barracks — the command center of the Galilee Brigade — and the Avivim barracks — the command center of the Western Brigade — using guided missiles and mortar shells, causing direct hits.”

Hezbollah has identified its martyrs as Housam Mohammad Ibrahim, Ali Raef Ftouni, and Ali Hasan Hodroj.

Observers say the group has intentionally referred to the counteroffensive as an “initial response” in order to warn Tel Aviv of further retaliatory attacks.

Cited by Reuters, the Israeli military claimed that it had responded to a number of “launches” from Lebanon into the occupied territories.

The Israeli regime and the movement reportedly exchanged artillery and rocket fire on Sunday, amid the a large-scale operation launched against the regime by Palestinian resistance groups from the besieged Gaza Strip, codenamed Operation al-Aqsa Storm.

Hezbollah has already fought off two Israeli acts of aggression against Lebanon in 2000 and 2006, forcing a humiliating retreat upon the Tel Aviv regime’s military in both cases.

The resistance movement has vowed to resolutely defend Lebanon in case of any Israeli-imposed war.

‘All Muslims should help people of Palestine, reclaim their usurped rights’

Iraq’s top Shia cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani has urged all Muslims across the world to help Palestinian people amid the Israeli regime’s relentless strikes on the Gaza Strip.

“We call on all Muslims to come to the assistance of the Muslim people of Palestine [and] respond to their loud cries for help,” the senior cleric said in a message on Monday.

Grand Ayatollah Sistani added also urged all Muslims to do their utmost to “deter the aggressors,” reclaim the usurped rights of Palestinians, and save them from Israel’s onslaught.

He added that the Islamic land of Palestine should be saved from “usurping aggressor.”

Calling up an unprecedented 300,000 reservists, Israel has declared a “long” war on Gaza in response to Operation al-Aqsa Storm, which started on Saturday.

The resistance fighters say they have waged the operation against the occupying regime in response to its decades-long campaign of bloodshed and destruction against Palestinians.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll from the Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip has hit 687, including 140 children and 105 women, with 3,726 others injured.

Tel Aviv has already been enforcing a permanent ground, aerial, and naval blockade against the coastal territory since 2007. The regime rarely relaxes the siege for entry of essential goods, but has ordered it to be exercised completely since the onset of its ongoing war.

In a statement, the Israeli air force said it had dropped some 2,000 munitions and more than 1,000 ton bombs on Gaza in the last 20 hours.

The Israeli strikes have also led to the displacement of more than 123,000 people in the Gaza Strip, according to the United Nations.

UN chief says “deeply distressed” over Israel’s complete siege of Gaza

In a related development on Monday, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said he was “deeply distressed” by Israel’s announcement that it would initiate a complete siege of Gaza following the Palestinian resistance’s large-scale operation against the regime.

“I am deeply distressed by today’s announcement that Israel will initiate a complete siege of the Gaza Strip, nothing allowed in – no electricity, food, or fuel,” Guterres said.

This, after the Israeli military said it was imposing a total blockade of Gaza in response to Hamas attacks, after calling up hundreds of thousands of reservists.

Guterres said the situation in Gaza was already “extremely dire” before the regime’s decision to choke up all the entrances to the territory, adding that it would “only deteriorate exponentially” following Israel’s announcement.

Noting that medical equipment, food, and other humanitarian supplies and personnel are needed, the UN chief said relief and entry of essential supplies into the territory must be facilitated.

“I urge all sides and the relevant parties to allow United Nations access to deliver urgent humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians trapped and helpless in the Gaza Strip,” he said, while appealing to the international community to mobilize immediate humanitarian support.

Hezbollah strikes 2 Israeli bases after 3 members martyred

The Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah struck two Israeli military positions with precision guided missiles after the Israeli regime martyred Hezbollah members in shelling attacks, Al-Jazeera reported.

Hezbollah in a statement on Monday said it had fired rockets and mortars on two Israeli military posts in the Galilee. The Israeli military said it identified a number of “launches” from Lebanon into occupied territories, claiming that there were no injuries. It said it was responding with artillery fire on Lebanon.

The Associated Press news agency identified those martyred Hezbollah members as Hussam Mohammad Ibrahim, Ali Raef Ftouni, and Ali Hassan Hodroj.

Hezbollah said that those killed had been “martyred as a result of the Zionist aggression on south Lebanon Monday afternoon”.

The Israeli regime military began shelling southern Lebanon on Monday after a cross-border raid claimed by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) armed group.

The Israeli army said soldiers backed by helicopters killed at least two gunmen who crossed the frontier.

Hamas praises op. as ‘legitimate’ right to self defense

Hamas made the statement on the third day of Operation al-Aqsa Storm, the largest military operation against the regime in decades.

Since Saturday, the resistance groups in the besieged Gaza Strip have fired over 5,000 rockets at the occupied territories. Israeli media outlets report that more than 900 settlers and troops have been killed, with over 2,600 others injured as a result, Press TV reported.

“The battle of al-Aqsa Storm is a legitimate right for our people to defend themselves, their land, and their sanctities, in light of the continued aggression of the occupation and the silence and failure of the world to put an end to its escalating terrorism, and its denial of all the rights of our people and their aspirations to liberate their land and achieve a return to it,” Hamas said.

Listing the reasons behind the large-scale operation, Hamas referred to the escalating violations by Israeli settlers against the al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied Old City of al-Quds and the regime’s prevention of Muslim worship.

Hamas denounced the Israeli settlement expansion in the occupied West Bank and al-Quds.

The resistance movement also said one of the reasons for launching Operation al-Aqsa Storm was Israel’s escalation of violations and crimes against Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas pointed to “the brutal war waged by the fascist occupation regime against our people in the occupied West Bank, and the policy of segregation, racial discrimination and ethnic cleansing” in addition to “the continuation of the unjust siege on the Gaza Strip for more than 16 years, and the catastrophic effects it has had on more than two million Palestinian citizens.”

Hamas renewed its call “to all countries of the world, to assume their political and humanitarian responsibilities, to do justice to our people and support their legitimate struggle for freedom and self-determination, and to establish their independent, fully sovereign state with al-Quds as its capital, and to end the longest and most dangerous ongoing occupation in the world.”

Since early Saturday, the large-scale multi-pronged operation has featured heavy rocket barrages and surprise attacks by resistance fighters against Israeli forces and settlers in the occupied territories.

Palestinian resistance leaders have described the operation as a decisive answer to the regime’s unabated campaign of bloodshed and destruction.
