Gaza genocide reveals West hypocrisy openly: Turkish expert

The Resistance group Hamas launched a successful operation dubbed “Al-Aqsa Storm”, killing more than 1,300 Zionist regime soldiers and wounding more than 3,000, followed by a war on Gaza’s civilians by the regime.

According to the Palestinian health official figures, more than 1,537 civilian Palestinians including women and children have been martyred, and 6,612 have been wounded in Israeli indiscriminate attacks so far.

Claimants of human rights in the US and the European countries have not only closed their eyes to the slaughtering of innocent Palestinian civilian people by the Israeli regime but also have backed the regime’s crimes.

Turkish researcher and expert, Dr. Deniz Caner told Mehr News agency, “Thanks to social media the Gaza genocide is taking place in modern history in front of everyone in the world “, adding that Israel will never be able to wash away this blood.

She also said, “In addition, a US and EU minister, diplomat, or bureaucrat goes to Israel every day to support this genocide.”

The Turkish expert also added, “From now on, the West has lost its credibility in the Ukraine War.”

Deniz Caner noted that “In the Palestinian issue, for the first time, the West has shown open hypocrisy and completely lost its impartiality.”

Resistance enjoying excellent situation: Nasrallah

Nasrallah made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Beirut on Friday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the current developments in the region including the situation in Palestine after the Al-Aqsa Storm operation launched by Palestinian Resistance forces against the Israeli regime.

The top Iranian diplomat, in the meeting, informed Nasrallah about the diplomatic efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran over holding consultations with different states and international organizations regarding the situation of the Gaza Strip and the Zionist regime’s war crimes against the Palestinian people.

Amir-Abdollahian and Nasrallah also condemned the US support for the Israeli regime’s inhumane aggression against the defenseless people of Gaza and hailed the support of different nations from across the world for the Palestinian Resistance.

They also stressed the need for Muslim countries to be united and take action to stop the Zionist regime’s crimes.

Broken hearts and clenched fists: "We are all Palestinians"

Israel has been raining missiles and bombs on the besieged Gaza Strip after the Hamas resistance movement surprised the regime with a large-scale offensive on Saturday.

Hamas forces entered the occupied territories through land, air and sea after thousands of rockets were fired at Israeli military positions.

The regime has ordered a “total blockade” of Gaza not letting any food, fuel, electricity, or medicine inside the enclave. “We are fighting with human animals and we will act accordingly,” said Israel’s war minister Yoav Gallant on Sunday as civilian casualties inside the impoverished strip began to rise.

So far more than 1600 Palestinians have been killed during Israeli attacks with more than 500 children among the dead. Videos show Israel has also been using white phosphorus bombs to strike Gaza, whose use on civilian areas is considered to be a war crime. The regime has reduced entire neighborhoods in the densely populated region to rubles and has also told 1.1 million people living in northern Gaza to leave their homes and relocate to southern regions, something that revived Nakbah memories. The 24-hour notice by the regime came on Friday. That’s while so far, more than 300,000 Gazans have been displaced due to Israel’s relentless bombings of civilian areas. Authorities in Gaza say more than 90% of the regime’s targets consist of residential buildings.

The United Nations Human Rights chief has urged Israel to respect the dignity and lives of Palestinian people and “spare the civilian population and civilian objects” during its attacks. “The imposition of sieges that endanger the lives of civilians by depriving them of goods essential for their survival is prohibited under international humanitarian law,” Volker Turk added.

The regime however seems unlikely to back down on its crimes as it’s been receiving unequivocal support from Western leaders. Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of States, and Pentagon Chief James Austin have travelled to the occupied territories after Joe Biden said he would “ensure Israel has what it needs to respond to Hamas”.

Leaders in the UK, Canada, France, Germany, the EU, and NATO have also voiced strong support for the regime without mentioning any of the horrifying crimes Israel is currently committing against Palestinians.

But despite Western leaders’ loyalty towards their proxy in West Asia and a massive propaganda campaign backing the regime, citizens around the world did not hesitate to express their revulsion with Israeli crimes in Gaza; even though any protest in support of Palestine might bring about draconian consequences for demonstrators in the West.

Iran

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

Thousands of Iranians took to the streets of Tehran, Mashhad, Yazd, Ghazvin, Hamedan, Karaj, Ardabil, Sanandaj, Hormoz and several other cities in a powerful display of support for the Palestinian people.

“Death to Israel. Death to Zionism!” shouted Iranian demonstrators, while carrying Palestinian flags and placards asking for an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestine.

“This operation was the result of the accumulation of anger of a nation that has been displaced from their lands by occupiers,” said the chief commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami during a speech addressing the demonstrators while pointing to the history of Israeli crimes against Palestinians such as the Sabra and Shatila massacre in 1982.

“This was a heavy defeat for the Israeli regime because Palestine could deal a devastating blow to the regime’s military and intelligence bodies without the partnership of any other power,” Salami added.

Iraq

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

After a call by prominent Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, thousands of people gathered at Tahrir Square in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad to condemn Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. “No to the occupation! No to America!” chanted the demonstrators.

“This rally is aimed at condemning what is happening in occupied Palestine, the bloodletting and the violation of rights,” said one of the organizers of the protest.

Protesters waved Palestinian and Iraqi flags while a huge Israeli flag was laid on the ground for the demonstrators to trample on.

Iraqi officials have shown full solidarity with Palestinians. “Today’s Palestinian actions respond to longstanding oppression by the Zionist occupation, which ignores international resolutions. We urge global intervention to restore Palestinian rights, cautioning against escalation that could destabilize the region, and call for an urgent Arab League meeting on the Palestinian situation,” reads a statement by the Iraqi government.

Jordan

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

In Jordan, more than 10,000 people massed in central Amman near Grand Hussein Mosque to voice support for the Palestinian cause. Thousands decided to move towards the Western borders with the occupied territories but Jordanian police proceeded to shoot tear gas and grenades at marchers.

“We are here to support the Palestinian people in Gaza. I have seen scores of police, who have attacked us. They cannot suppress our rights. We are here to defend our human rights,” a Jordanian demonstrator told the Middle East Eye.

Jordanian authorities banned pro-Palestinian protests in Jordan Valley and border areas on Thursday. “Calls for gatherings and demonstrations in the Jordan Valley and border areas are not allowed,” the Arab country’s interior ministry said in a statement.

The crackdown on protestors happened as Jordan’s King Abdullah arranged a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State on Friday. The king called for the prevention of a “spillover of the crisis into neighboring countries and the exacerbation of the refugee issue”.

Yemen

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

Among the several protests taking place in West Asia, the people of Yemen garnered the most attention due to the huge number of demonstrations.

After several days of rallies, Yemenis once again gathered in cities across the country to express their unflagging support for the Palestinian cause. Images of people gathered in Sana’a show a population of tens of thousands of people waving Palestinian flags and calling for a cease of Israeli atrocities. The people of Yemen are no strangers to war and destruction. The country is just reeling from an eight-year war imposed by Saudi Arabia.

Yemen’s popular Ansarallah movement has also expressed readiness to help Palestinians in Gaza. “We in Yemen are with the Palestinian people in every way we can, and we will not abandon the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance, which defends them and has the right to do so,” Nasreddin Amer, deputy information secretary of the movement, said on Monday.

Persian Gulf

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

Some Persian Gulf countries were the scene of pro-Palestinian protests on Friday. Hundreds flocked to the streets in Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain.

In Bahrain, protesters had to cover their faces to avoid arrest by the forces of the country’s embattled ruler, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. “We will always support our brothers in Palestine. If we were able to reach them, we would have fought alongside them,” a protester told French media while speaking on condition of anonymity.

Protests have also occurred in the United Arab Emirates in recent days. The UAE and Bahrain were among the four Arab states that normalized ties with the Israeli regime under the so-called Abraham Accords. The Abraham Accords which began during the Trump administration aimed to sideline the Palestinian cause and present Israel as the sole administrator of occupied Palestinian lands.

Saudi Arabia was next to join the normalization deal but halted its talks with the regime after Israel started its aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Europe

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

French protesters defied a Thursday ban by French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin who announced a systematic prohibition of pro-Palestinian demonstrations in France.

Police used teargas and water cannons to disperse protesters who gathered in the capital of Paris on Friday. “Palestine will win,” “Israel murderer,” and “Macron accomplice” demonstrators shouted as they condemned the French government’s support for the “terrorist” regime of Israel. Protesters were also attacked in other French cities during previous rallies.

The same ban was imposed by authorities in Germany. “Our law governing associations is a sharp sword. And we, as a strong constitutional state, will draw this sword,” Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an address to parliament in Berlin.

Rallies have also been held in the UK and Italy in solidarity with Palestinians who might lose their lives any moment under Israel’s bombardment and siege.

United States

Broken Hearts and Clenched Fists: "We Are All Palestinians"

In the U.S., pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli protesters have been dueling for several days across the country.

A viral video shows that several people at a pro-Israel protest in New York City called for the Gaza Strip to be “flattened” and for genocide against Palestinians on Wednesday.

Thousands of other protesters have slammed such rhetoric and chanted “freedom for Palestine” in New York City and Washington D.C. There is also a long list of U.S. universities where American students have staged protests in support of Palestine.

In Harvard, more than 30 student groups signed a statement blaming Israel for its spiraling violence against Palestinians. “Students hold the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence,” said the statement.

Pro-Palestinian protests have also taken place at Indiana University, Arizona State University, California State University Long Beach, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Colombia slamming Israel’s occupation of Palestine as a crime.

Iran FM: West seeks to falsify facts in Gaza, justify Israeli crimes

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian says the West is seeking to distort the facts on the ground in the Gaza Strip and legitimatize Israeli crimes in the besieged coastal enclave.

Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus on Friday evening, emphasizing that the resistance front possesses the capability to stand up against the apartheid Israeli regime for a long period of time.

He also scoffed at Washington’s call on Palestinian groups to exercise restraint while, at the same time, supplying the Israeli military with various types of ammunition to be used against ordinary people in the Gaza Strip.

The top Iranian diplomat slammed as war crimes the brutal killing of women, children and elderly people in Gaza, the complete siege and cut-off of the supply of water, electricity and fuel to the territory, and the intense bombardment of houses, public facilities and medical centers there.

Amir-Abdollahian added that some international and Western authorities are in contact with Iranian officials, and the two sides are exchanging views on the latest developments in Palestine.

“The extremist policies of [Israeli prime minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and his provocative measures could be named the main cause of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. Nonetheless, Westerners call on all parties except for the Zionist regime to exercise restraint! Westerners admit that contrary to their imagination, Operation Al-Aqsa Storm demonstrated that Palestine is still thriving,” the Iranian foreign minister said.

He stressed that Iran and Syria’s support for Palestinian resistance is known to all, but the recent operation by fighters from Hamas and other groups was purely Palestinian in nature.

Amir-Abdollahian also pointed to the critical and miserable situation in Gaza as a result of the ongoing Israeli crimes against its residents, stressing that concerted efforts need to focus on prevention of further Israeli atrocities in the enclave.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has therefore demanded an emergency foreign ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and voiced its readiness to host such an event,” he explained.

For his part, Assad expressed his concern about the extent of Israeli crimes against Gazans, stating that Israeli authorities and their advocates want to reverse the course in light of recent developments or use the Palestinian attacks as an excuse to root out the resistance front.

Such an approach is being directed under the tutelage of the United States and certain Western countries, the Syrian leader said.

He said the reason why Westerners stand by Israel is because of the regime’s acute political, economic and social crises, and their concerns of a looming collapse.

The Syrian president also expressed support for Iran’s proposal for an emergency OIC foreign ministerial meeting, stressing the need for all-out efforts to avoid the perpetration of more horrendous Israeli crimes against Palestinians in Gaza.

In Gaza, more than 1,900 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes, including 614 children and 370 women. An additional 7,696 have also been wounded, including 2,000 children and 1,400 women.

Israel gave a warning at midnight local time on Friday, telling more than one million Palestinians living north of the enclave that they have 24 hours to evacuate to the south.

Tel Aviv, its backers seek to diminish Palestinians' victory

Al-Assad made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Damascus on Friday evening.

The top Iranian diplomat described the brutal killing of Gaza’s people, children, women, and the elderly, plus the blockade, cutting off water, electricity, and fuel in the area, as well as the bombardment of Gaza’s homes, public and medical facilities as war crimes.

Some international and Western officials consider Netanyahu’s extreme policies and provocative actions to be responsible for launching the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation by the Palestinian Resistance, however, they call on just the Palestinian side to exercise utmost restraint, he added.

Westerners believe that the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation showed that Palestine is still alive, he further noted.

Supporting Palestine by Iran and Syria is a crystal clear issue, but the Al-Aqsa Storm Operation was a completely Palestinian decision, design, and action, the top Iranian diplomat highlighted.

Pointing out that the West is seeking to fabricate the facts in Gaza to justify and legitimize the Zionists’ crimes, he reiterated that the Palestinian Resistance has the ability to continue to resist the Zionist regime for a long time.

The US can not call on others to exercise restraint while providing arms support to the Zionist regime to be used against Palestinian civilians, Amir-Abdollahian went on to say.

Regarding the complicated and painful condition in Gaza due to the Zionist war crimes against Gaza civilians and its residents, Amir-Abdollahian said that efforts by all sides should be focused on preventing the continuation of the Israeli regime’s war crimes in Gaza. In this regard, the Islamic Republic of Iran has offered the idea of holding an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries and also has submitted its readiness official letter to host it.

Bashar al-Assad, for his part, expressed his concern about the volume of the Zionists’ crimes against the people of Gaza, saying that the Zionists and their supporters want to diminish the victory achieved by the Palestinian people in recent developments or turn it into a ground for eliminating Resistance. He added that this approach is being pursued with the guidance and management of the US and Western countries.

The Syrian president described the reason for the West’s standing on the side of the Zionist regime as the high political, economic, and social crises of the Zionist regime and the danger of the collapse of this regime.

He supported Iran’s political initiative to hold an extraordinary meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries, saying that “we should try to prevent the continuation of the Zionist regime’s brutal crime against the people of Gaza”.

Iran-Russia coop. to contribute to regional states’ progress

Javad Owji, who addressed a specialized session of the 6th Russian Energy Week International Forum in Moscow, added that a historic opportunity has been created for Iran and Russia and the two sides have become closer than ever.

Pointing to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent remarks on Tehran-Moscow’s satisfactory relations and efforts for enhancing bilateral ties, the minister continued, “The Russian Energy Week (REW) 2023 has provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the development of energy industry, challenges we are and will be faced with, obstacles we have removed, and successes we will achieve through making bilateral and multilateral efforts.

“I, as the head of the Iranian party to the Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission, not only make every effort to promote strategic cooperation in various energy fields, but also support cooperation between all ministries, organizations, and companies of Iran and Russia, Shana reported.

“I am convinced if all of us make greater efforts, the pace of cooperation will be quickened. It is no exaggeration to say that unfair sanctions against Iran and Russia have caused the two countries to make progress in many areas.”

New order in Iran-Russia economic interactions

Owji said, “We consider sanctions as a big and historic opportunity to get closer in all dimensions. We have to seize these opportunities and create a new order in economic interactions. The Russian Energy Week is one of these opportunities, which we hope helps us get the desired results.

“All these achievements have been made despite intensified brutal sanctions and maximum pressure. We have managed to overcome these problems with our faith in Almighty God, self-reliance, and innovation.”

The sanctions have failed to prevent Iran’s economic progress, pointed out the minister, adding the country’s oil and gas industry has witnessed a 19.8 percent economic growth in spring 2023.

Iran can play role of energy hub

Iran is the safest and cheapest route for energy transit to international waters, said Owji, underlining that the global energy market cannot deny Iran’s key role.

In addition to its rich energy resources, Iran is located at a suitable geographic position, the point connecting Asia to Europe and the only land route between the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf, stated the minister, adding some countries around Iran are oil and gas exporters and some importers, and such conditions make it easier for Iran to play the role of an energy hub.

Considering its natural resources and northern neighbors, Iran is the leading player in energy trade in the Middle East and can turn into a gas hub, noted Owji.

Iran is currently exporting gas to Türkiye and Iraq, he said and continued Pakistan and India are potential customers of Iran’s gas.

Trading and swapping crude oil, oil products, and petrochemicals have given Iran a special status, he mentioned.

Import and export terminals as well as oil and gas transmission pipelines are indicative of Iran’s great capacity for turning into the region’s energy hub.

Global stability through Iran-Russia cooperation

The advantages of cooperation between Iran and Russia are not limited to economic benefits as their relations develop mutual understanding, which can lead to stability in the region and the world and pave the way for further cooperation in other areas, Owji said.

Free and apolitical investment and joint utilization of technology for the development of the two countries’ resources are a necessity and should be put on their agendas for boosting bilateral relations.

Iran has 15 neighboring states, out of which 12 are holders of oil and gas reserves, mentioned the minister, adding, “Having a 1,880km maritime boundary, Iran is connected to high seas via the Sea of Oman and the Persian Gulf –  an advantage many oil-producing countries lack while they really need it for exporting their crude and oil products.

Oil trade depoliticization a must

Given its rich resources, geoeconomic and geopolitical advantages, and other factors such as plenty of experts, cheap feedstock, supply security, and technical know-how, Iran has become an attractive country for investment in oil and gas projects, Owji said.

The minister called for foreign investors to participate in Iran’s oil and gas projects, describing his country’s contracts as attractive.

“Private and public companies’ participation, if accompanied by governments’ commitments, can help finally overcome existing challenges and promote the welfare of our peoples,” he pointed out.

Global security is improved as much as the world manages to depoliticize the global energy market, particularly the oil market, opined Owji, concluding that international oil and gas trade should be free of political relations.

Resistance ready for all scenarios against Israeli regime

The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart Faisal al-Mekdad in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Friday.

Syria is Amir-Abdollahian’s third stop in a regional tour that has already taken him to Iraq and Lebanon.

He revealed that he had met earlier in the Lebanese capital Beirut with the secretary general of the Resistance movement of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and a number of other Resistance leaders.

“I was informed [at that meeting] that the Resistance has put all possible scenarios before itself, and [that the Resistance groups] were in high spirits,” the Iranian official said.

Amir-Abdollahian warned that the Zionist regime and its allies were trying to realize a “mass carnage” in Gaza through their continued disruption of the flow of food, water, and electricity towards the territory.

“I am willing to announce this message to the leaders of the Muslim and Arab countries in a loud voice that today, the oppressed people of Gaza are in need of immediate international assistance towards the removal of the humanitarian siege and cessation of the Zionists’ crimes,” he said.

He criticized the Arab League for issuing a “bleak” statement on the situation that is faced by the people of Gaza, denouncing the grouping for its “vague and ambiguous positions.”

The official finally hoped that the foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) would meet soon in the Iranian capital of Tehran or elsewhere to address Gaza’s situation.

Iran slams Israeli attack on journalists' vehicle in Lebanon

Nasser Kan’ani issued the condemnation on Friday, hours after the Israeli regime’s artillery attack that targeted the vehicle in the Lebanese village of Alma al-Shaab.

The official condoled with and expressed sympathy towards the survivors as well as the international community of journalists.

Qatar’s Al Jazeera television network identified the fatality as a reporter with Lebanon’s official National News Agency (NNA).

Five others were also injured in the attack, including an Al Jazeera photographer. Last year, a Zionist sniper gunned down Shireen Abu Akleh, targeting the veteran Al Jazeera journalist with a live armor-piercing bullet.

This is not the first time that the Israeli regime has targeted the Lebanese territory since Saturday when it launched its ongoing hugely deadly war against the Gaza Strip.

On Tuesday, the Lebanese Hezbollah Resistance movement said it had struck two Israeli military posts in the northern part of the occupied territories in response to the regime’s earlier aggression against South Lebanon, which had left three of the group’s fighters dead.
