Yemen's Ansarullah says obtained new weapons technology

Hizam al-Assad, a member of the Political Office of Yemen’s Ansarullah, said that the Arab state’s war with the Zionist regime and the US government is intensifying.

“Yemen has acquired new weapons technologies that it will unveil later. Sana’a will continue firing missiles against the occupied territories and its drone operations,” he stressed.

Saying that Yemen’s war against the enemies is unlimited, al-Assad stressed, that the vital military and infrastructure areas of the Zionist regime are among the targets of the Yemeni armed forces.

“All the targets in the occupied territories are within our range with the help of new missile systems.”

Yemenis have declared their open support for Palestine’s struggle against the Israeli occupation since the regime launched a devastating war on Gaza on October 7 after the territory’s Palestinian Resistance movements carried out a surprise retaliatory attack, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, against the occupying entity.

Yemeni Armed Forces have said that they won’t stop their attacks until unrelenting Israeli ground and aerial offensives in Gaza, which have killed at least 27,948 people and wounded another 67,459 individuals, come to an end.

The United States and Britain in December announced a military coalition to target Yemen in support of Israel.

US F-18 Super Hornet jet crashes over Yemen waters

Both pilots were recovered alive after ejecting from their stricken aircraft, with one suffering minor injuries.

The F/A-18 shot down had just flown off the deck of the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, Central Command said. On Dec. 15, Central Command acknowledged that Truman had entered the West Asia region, but hadn’t specified that the carrier and its battle group was in the Red Sea.

“The guided missile cruiser USS Gettysburg, which is part of the USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group, mistakenly fired on and hit the F/A-18,” Central Command said in a statement, AP reported.

From the military’s description, the aircraft shot down was a two-seat F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet assigned to the “Red Rippers” of Strike Fighter Squadron 11 out of Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

It wasn’t immediately clear how the Gettysburg could mistake an F/A-18 for an enemy aircraft or missile, particularly as ships in a battle group remain linked by both radar and radio communication.

Riyadh warned Germany about man held over Magdeburg attacker

The suspect was reportedly identified as Taleb A, according to Sputnik.

In 2023, Saudi Arabia contacted Germany through Interpol to request the arrest of Taleb A. on suspicion of terrorist activities. However, German authorities rejected the request as potentially politically motivated. As a result, the man wanted in Saudi Arabia was granted asylum in Germany, German media reported.

Meanwhile, the Welt newspaper reported that the suspect had threatened Germany with a “heavy price” on the X social network for persecuting the “nonbelieving” refugees from Saudi Arabia.

On Friday evening, Germany’s NTV broadcaster reported that a car had rammed into a crowd at a Christmas market in Magdeburg. On Saturday, the minister-president of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, Reiner Haseloff said that the attack had left five people dead and more than 200 injured.

Police suspect that the driver was a 50-year-old Saudi man acting alone. The Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported that the suspect had been recognized as a refugee in July 2016 and had a residence permit in Germany.

Iran has no proxy forces in region: Leader

A group of eulogists and elegists of Ahl ul-Bayt (AS) held a meeting with Ayatollah Khamenei at Imam Khomeini (RA) Hosseiniyah on Sunday morning on the occasion of Hazrat Fatemeh’s birth anniversary (SA).

A number of the eulogists delivered eulogies about the virtues and characteristics of Ahl ul-Bayt (AS) during the meeting.

Addressing the participants, the Leader stressed that the Islamic Republic has no proxies in the region and that the Resistance forces in Yemen, Lebanon, and Palestine are fighting because of their faith.

If Iran ever decides to take action, it would not require a proxy force to do so, the Leader underlined.

He added that the US strategy for dominating countries is one of two things: either creating a tyrannical government or creating chaos.

An American official has said that the US would support any riot in Iran, he criticized, emphasizing that the Iranian nation will stand against anyone who accepts the American plot in this regard.

He stressed that the Americans, the Zionist regime, and their allies mistakenly believe they have emerged victorious, that’s why they make absurd statements.

Saying that the Israeli regime has failed to achieve its goals of destroying Hamas and Hezbollah, Ayatollah Khamenei cited that the honorable nations of the region, by God’s grace, will eradicate the infamous Israeli regime and create a better tomorrow for the region.

Hundreds of Israeli forces killed, injured in northern Gaza

At least 35 Zionist soldiers were killed and hundreds of others were injured in the operations of the Palestinian Resistance forces in the Jabalia camp and its surrounding areas, according to the reports suggested by the Israeli media.

Also, according to the estimates of the Zionist regime’s army, 70% of the Palestinian houses in the Jabalia camp, located in the north of the Gaza Strip, have been completely destroyed.

The occupiers have forced 96,000 Palestinians to leave the Jabalia camp, the reports added.

Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7, 2023, after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.

Also, the families of the abducted women in Aleppo took to the streets, calling for their release.

Israeli air defenses fail to deter Yemeni attacks: Report

The YAF has launched over 200 ballistic missiles and 170 drones targeting occupied Palestine, presenting a severe challenge to the occupation entity’s defense systems, the Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen reported, citing the Israeli media.

The report indicated that the Israeli regime’s air defense systems, including the infamous Iron Dome, have struggled to effectively counter the large-scale threat posed by the YAF.

It also noted that the Arrow missile defense system— the Israeli regime’s primary line of defense against ballistic missiles—failed four consecutive times to intercept incoming missiles, three launched from Yemen and one from Lebanon.

It further emphasized that the Israeli military is grappling with significant challenges in both countering the Yemeni attacks and responding effectively.

The report indicated that since the beginning of the war on Gaza, the YAF’s attacks have caused considerable damage to the Israeli economy.

Turkey's foreign minister meets Syria's de facto leader in Damascus

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has met with Syria’s de facto leader Ahmed al-Sharaa – also known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani – to discuss support for the new administration in Damascus.

Photographs and footage shared by Turkey’s foreign ministry showed Fidan and Sharaa, who heads the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) militant group, walking ahead of a crowded delegation in Damascus before posing for photographs on Sunday.

A video released by the Turkish Anadolu state news agency showed the two men warmly greeting, shaking hands and hugging each other.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that his top diplomat would be going to Damascus to discuss the new structure in Syria.

Erdogan himself is reportedly considering a visit to Syria. Turkey’s Chargé d’Affaires in Syria, Burhan Koroglu Koroglu mentioned that Erdogan’s visit might occur following Fidan’s trip to Damascus.

Turkey’s spy chief Ibrahim Kalin earlier visited the Syrian capital city on December 12, just a few days after Syria’s militant groups led by ousted Syria’s Bashar Assad after a lightning offensive.

Turkey has been a key backer of various militant groups opposing President Assad’s rule over the Arab country in recent years.

However, Fidan has rejected claims by US President-elect Donald Trump that the militants’ victory in Syria constituted an “unfriendly takeover” of the Arab country by Turkey.

Washington designated Sharaa a terrorist in 2013, saying al Qaeda in Iraq had tasked him with overthrowing Assad’s rule in Syria. But US officials said on Friday that Washington would remove a $10 million bounty on his head.

Sharaa’s group was part of al Qaeda and had been confined to Idlib for years until going on the offensive in late November, sweeping through the cities of western Syria and into Damascus as the army melted away.

HTS along with many other militant groups seized control of Damascus on Dec. 8, forcing Assad to leave his country.

Turkey wants HTS chief to disband Kurdish groups in Syria

On Saturday, Fidan said that Turkey would do “whatever it takes” to ensure its security if the new Syrian administration cannot address Ankara’s concerns about US-allied Kurdish groups it views as terrorist groups.

Hostilities have escalated since the fall of al-Assad less than two weeks ago, with Turkey and Syrian groups back seizing the city of Manbij from the US-allied Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Dec. 9.

Turkey regards the YPG, the militant group spearheading the SDF, as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants who have fought an insurgency against the Turkish state for 40 years and are deemed terrorists by Ankara.

Ankara, alongside allied militant groups, has mounted several cross-border offensives against the YPG-led SDF in northern Syria, while repeatedly demanding that its NATO ally Washington halt support for the fighters.

In a recent interview, Fidan said Ankara’s preferred option was for the new administration in Damascus to disband the YPG immediately.

“If it doesn’t happen, we have to protect our own national security,” he said. When asked if that included military action, Fidan said: “Whatever it takes.”

Syria has been gripped by foreign-sponsored militancy since March 2011.
