BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan urged eligible graduates to enrol as voters ahead of the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy Graduates’ MLC election, stressing that political apathy among educated voters was enabling undeserving individuals to gain positions of power.

Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan urged eligible graduates to register as voters ahead of the Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy Graduates’ MLC election, emphasising that educated voters’ indifference to politics was allowing undeserving people to occupy positions of power. He called on every eligible graduate to submit Form 18 to enrol as a voter and actively participate in the electoral process.
Addressing a meeting of graduates organised in Somajiguda under the Khairatabad constituency, Sravan expressed concern over low voter registration and turnout in Hyderabad, citing only around 8,000 registered voters in Khairatabad constituency in the previous MLC election.
“Educated people should not treat polling day as a holiday,” he said, pointing out that voting is a powerful constitutional right.
The BRS MLC credited party working president and former Minister KT Rama Rao’s leadership and the previous BRS government with attracting major investments to Hyderabad and generating about 20 lakh private-sector jobs. He alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s decisions had damaged the city’s global reputation and discouraged investment.
He also accused the government of failing to fulfil its promise to fill two lakh government posts and of withholding fee-reimbursement dues, which he said had affected students and colleges. He criticised the government over power cuts, drinking and irrigation water shortages, and the lack of preparedness for El Nino-related challenges.
Calling for renewed mobilisation against the Congress government’s policies and unemployment, Sravan urged graduates to vote for the BRS candidate with their first preference in the MLC election. BRS leaders from Somajiguda and Khairatabad and a large number of graduates and youth attended the meeting.
