Osmania University has secured fourth rank among India’s top general government universities in the India Today rankings and 13th among State public universities in Outlook-ICARE 2026. Its College of Engineering also ranked 18th among government engineering institutes.

Hyderabad: Osmania University (OU) achieved 4th rank among the top general government universities in India in the India Today ranking and 13th rank in the Outlook-ICARE Rankings 2026: Top 75 State Public Universities.
In addition, Osmania University College of Engineering bagged the 18th rank in the Outlook-ICARE Rankings 2026: Top 25 Government Engineering Institutes.
OU Vice Chancellor Prof Kumar Molugaram said the rankings are a reflection of the commitment, intellectual energy, and hard work of the faculty members, scholars, students, non-teaching staff, and alumni.
“This success is not just a milestone, but a powerful motivation to further elevate our standards of research, teaching, and global innovation,” he added.
