Demolition of sheds erected by street vendors sparked uproar, at Billapur in Manoora mandal, Sangareddy district on Saturday.

Sangareddy: The demolition of several shops sparked an uproar at Billapur village on Saturday. As many as 31 street vendors were running various shops in sheds. The shop owners have claimed that they were also given pattas by revenue department in the past.

However, the revenue officials have demolished the sheds claiming that it was government land. Tension prevailed as the vendors tried to obstruct them. The vendors staged a protest blocking the road. Former MLA Mahareddy Bhupal Reddy also joined the protest. He accused the officials of taking up the demolition at the behest of MLA Patlolla Sanjeeva Reddy.
