A 24-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death near his residence in Kerala’s Alappuzha district after an altercation with three men. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects, who fled the scene in an autorickshaw following the attack

Alappuzha (Kerala): A 24-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a three-member gang near his residence at Aryad in this coastal district on Friday, police said. The deceased was identified as Akhil alias Achu, a native of Muryanveli in Aryad panchayat. Police said efforts are underway to trace three persons suspected to be friends of Akhil.
According to police, the incident occurred around 5.45 pm when the accused persons arrived near Akhil’s house in an autorickshaw. An altercation broke out between them, following which one of the accused allegedly stabbed Akhil before the trio fled the scene in the autorickshaw, police said.
Akhil was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries, they said. Alappuzha North Police have launched an investigation into the incident. The body will be handed over to the relatives after completion of the post-mortem examination.
