GHMC removes 283 encroachments across Hyderabad in major drive

GHMC removed 283 encroachments across five zones in Hyderabad as part of its ongoing anti-encroachment drive. Since April 4, a total of 2,620 structures have been cleared to improve urban mobility and ensure encroachment-free roads across the city.

GHMC removes 283 encroachments across Hyderabad in major drive

Hyderabad: As part of a special drive on removal of encroachments on footpaths and road margins, the GHMC on Saturday removed a total of 283 encroachments, including 79 permanent structures and another 204 temporary structures.

The drive was conducted in the Shamshabad, Charminar, Golconda, Khairatabad and Secunderabad zones within GHMC limits. Officials said the drive was meant to maintain encroachment-free roads and improve urban mobility for all citizens.


A press statement said on Saturday that encroachments were removed between RGIA police station and Mission compound (Firangi Nala) in Shamshabad Zone, and simultaneously from SBI Bank to Reliance trends (footpath and service road) in Charminar Zone; Golconda Ward Office to Langar House X Road via Fathe Darwaja and Langar House X Road to Bapu Ghat in Golconda Zone; Basheerbagh Flyover (Hotel Megha City) via Old MLA Quarters Road to Tandos Restaurant in Khairatabad Zone; and Veer Savarkar Statue (Big bazaar) to Kachiguda Railway Station Kacheguda station to YMCA via Barkatpura in Secunderabad Zone.

So far, the GHMC officials said the special drives were conducted from April 4 till date, and a total of 2,620 encroachments were removed in GHMC limits.
