Hyderabad: The Malkajgiri Traffic Police booked 1,496 cases during a special enforcement drive conducted across the commissionerate in a single day on Thursday.
The enforcement drive targeted driving without a valid licence, not carrying driving licences, missing vehicle documents and minor driving.
During the drive, police imposed fines totalling Rs 2.99 lakh and detected 17 cases of minor driving.
Officials said all minor driving cases will be charge-sheeted and sent to court as per legal provisions.
The drive was conducted with traffic teams deployed at major junctions and busy corridors to identify violations.
Traffic Police cautioned parents and vehicle owners against allowing minors to drive and warned of legal action against those found responsible.
