Southern Railway will operate special train (Train on Demand) between Tirunelveli and Tambaram via Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar on January 18 to clear extra rush of passengers during Pongal festival.
A statement said that Train No. 06178 Tirunelveli – Tambaram special will leave Tirunelveli at 1 p.m. on January 18 (Sunday) and reach Tambaram at 3 a.m. the next day.
The train would have eight sleeper class coaches, eight general second class coaches and two second class (Differently-abled friendly) coaches.
The train would stop at Cheranmahadevi, Kallidaikurichi, Ambasamudram, Keela Kadaiyam , Pavoorchathiram, Tenkasi (3.15 p.m.), Kadayanallur, Pambakoil Shandy, Sankarankoil (4 p.m.), Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Sivakasi (4.55 p.m.), Tiruthangal, Virudhunagar (5.40 p.m., Tirumangalam, Madurai (6.55 p.m.), Sholavandan, Kodai Road, Dindigul (8.05 p.m.), Manaparai, Tiruchi, Vriddhachalam, Villupuram and Chengalpattu.
Advance reservation for the above train will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday.
