India had a slow start as compared to the last match as they lost two of their batters early on. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the first one to walk back to the pavilion after an unfortunate edge. Ishan Kishan soon followed him putting his team under pressure. Suryakumar Yadav, the skipper took things into his own hands and played aggressively earning the momentum back in their favor. He couldn’t continue his onslaught as he was dismissed by Aaron Hardie but he had got his team back on the front foot. It was Ruturaj Gaikwad’s turn next to play the aggressor role and he completed his half-century with equal support from Tilak Varma. They started throwing their hands at every chance they could find and were rewarded with splendid boundaries. Gaikwad was the pick of the batters and planned out his innings brilliantly as he completed his maiden T20I century in style.
That was fast and furious! What a brilliant batting display especially from the opening batter from Maharashtra, Ruturaj Gaikwad! After being under pressure for most of the innings, it was a game for the Indians to steal back in the latter half. A fine century and some aggressive batting from his teammates made sure that India reached a mammoth total of 222.
