A fresh RDO notice on land acquisition for the Gandhi Sarovar Project has triggered panic among residents of Keerthi Richmond Villas in Sun City. Property owners have opposed the move, with several joining protests against the Musi Riverfront Development.

Hyderabad: A fresh notice served by the Rajendranagar Revenue Divisional Officer-cum-Land Acquisition Officer for the Gandhi Sarovar Project linked to the Musi Riverfront Development created panic among property owners in Keerthi Richmond Villas, Sun City in Bandlaguda in Rajendranagar.
The RDO served the notice, a copy of which was accessed by Telangana Today, to Indra Prakash, President, Keerthi Richmond Villas Owners Welfare Associations.
“Notice is hereby given for enquiry to be conducted for giving opportunity of being heard to you fixed on May 6 at 11 am in the chambers of the Rajendranagar Divisional Officer, Rajendranagar Division, Pillar No: 164 Upparpally, depose the contention claim and objection on the proposed acquisition of the scheduled land,” as stated by the notice,
The RDO responded to an objection raised by Indra Prakash, President, Keerthi Richmond Villas Owners Welfare Associations, on 21/02/2026, on the proposed acquisition of the scheduled land, and to proceed further in the matter as per the law.
Keerthi Richmond Villas is a gated community located at Sun City, with luxurious villas built on 24 acres. Keerthi Richmond Villas came to light after the RDO issued a public notification to acquire the land for the Gandhi Sarovar Project, and owners whose properties would be affected opposed it. Some property owners joined hands with Musi Jan Andolan, a people’s movement, opposing the land acquisition for the Sarovar project.
Approximately 36 to 40 luxurious villas in Keerthi Richmond Villas may likely be affected due to land acquisition, a property owner B Sarath Babu told Telangana Today. “We are strongly opposing the land acquisition for the Gandhi Sarovar Project,” he said.
