Kumram Bheem Asifabad: BRS leaders alleged that local MLA Kova Laxmi was insulted when officials failed to follow protocol during Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s tour of the district on Monday. They staged a protest by standing at a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Narnoor mandal centre on Tuesday, criticizing the government.

The leaders strongly condemned the breach of protocol by the officials, resulting in humiliation for Laxmi. They stated that it was a shame for the Congress party to not follow protocol in the case of the tribal legislator.

They opined that it was the responsibility of the government to respect the public representative of a party irrespective of their political affiliation.

The leaders further said that the onus of preventing such instances in the future was on district authorities and leaders. They demanded Revanth Reddy and authorities to issue an apology to Kova Laxmi for insulting her. They added that Laxmi was subjected to insult as she was a tribal woman.

Leaders Sriram Jadhav, Ade Suresh, Kanaka Satyanarayana, Rupdev, Thodasam Nagorao, Syed Qasim, Rathod Subhash, Yashwanth Rao, Sultan Khan and Dayanand were present.
