Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that Rs. 6,000 crore pending dues to retired employees would be cleared in 100 days and health cards to all government employees would be provided by June.
Following these announcements, the Joint Action Committee of Telangana Employees, Gazetted Officers, Teachers, Workers and Pensioners (TGEJAC) withdrew its proposed hunger strike on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister convened a meeting with TGEJAC representatives on their long-pending issues here on Saturday.
During the meeting, he instructed the PRC Commission to submit its report at the earliest as the State government was ready to take a decision on the enhancement of salaries. The employees’ unions were suggested to hold a meeting every two months and submit a report on their issues.
The Chief Minister stressed that the State government had responded positively to the proposal of issuing health cards for all employees by the first week of June.
“Within 100 days, the government will disburse Rs. 6,000 crore towards the retirement benefits of employees,” Revanth Reddy said. The decision regarding the prioritisation of how these funds are utilized rests with employees’ unions.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who also participated in the meeting, assured that there would be zero pending bills by the State Formation Day on June 2.
