A special court for child offences sentenced a 22-year-old Madrasa teacher to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy in Balapur in 2022. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict.

Madrasa teacher gets 20 years’ RI in POCSO case in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A special court for child offences has convicted a Madrasa teacher and sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting an 11-year-old boy in Balapur.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.


The incident occurred in March 2022, when the convict, identified as Syed Nadeem (22), had overpowered and sexually assaulted the boy on the Madrasa premises in the Balapur area. He had also threatened to kill the boy if he disclosed the matter to anyone.

Initially, a case was booked in Balapur and was later re-registered and investigated at Chandrayangutta, where the charge sheet was filed, and subsequently transferred to Bandlaguda.
