Noted historian and retired lecturer Dr Jaisetti Ramanaiah passed away at the age of 88 in Jagtial. Ramanaiah, who authored books on Karimnagar’s temple history, had also taught former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Jagtial: A well-known historian, Dr Jaisetti Ramanaiah died with age related health problems on Friday early. Ramanaiah, who has been bedridden for the past sometime, breathed his last at around 3 am. He is 88.
He was survived by two sons and two daughters.
A retired history lecturer, Ramanaiah wrote books on the history of temples in Karimnagar. Karimnagar District History Culture is one among few books written by him.
Moreover, he is the teacher of BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. While working as history lecturer in Siddipet junior college, Ramanaiah taught Chandrashekhar Rao.
Chandrshekhar Rao honored his mentors by felicitating him when the BRS government came to power in 2014. In May 2024, BRS chief visited the house of Ramaiah in Jagtial and comforted him.
Chandrashekhar expressed his condolences over the death of his mentor. Final rites of Ramanaiah will be held in Jagtial on Saturday.
