Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian foreign minister, and his Omani counterpart Sayyid Badr bin Busaidi discussed the ongoing developments in Palestine in a telephone call on Saturday.
In the phone call, the two sides emphasized the ways to immediately stop the killing of the Palestinian people, especially women and children, the immediate lifting of the blockade of the Gaza Strip and the sending of humanitarian aid including fuel, food, medicine and medical equipment, as well as their firm opposition to the policy of forced evacuation of the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip.
The Iranian foreign minister also held a phone call with Luxembourg’s Foreign and European Affairs Minister and Minister of Immigration and Asylum Jean Asselborn to discuss the Palestinian developments.
Amir-Abdollahian highlighted the war crimes by the Zionist regime and the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza as a result of Netanyahu’s extremist actions and underscored the martyrdom of women and children in Gaza.
“The actions of the Palestinian Resistance groups in order to confront the occupation are based on international law and the latest crimes of the Zionist regime in killing 4,500 children, women and civilians, making hundreds of thousands homeless, attacking Gaza hospitals, attacking a church in Gaza and the continuation of the blockade of this enclave in order to prevent the delivery of water, food, medicine and fuel, despite the efforts of the United Nations, shows the weak position of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian resistance forces,” the top Iranian diplomat told the Luxamburgan counterpart.
Jean Asselborn, for his part, pointed out that he is aware of the critical situation in Gaza, saying, “We hope that the tensions will end as soon as possible and that a political solution will be prioritized.”
The foreign minister of Luxembourg also affirmed that the constructive and active role of the Islamic Republic of Iran can always help to establish peace and restore peace in the region.
