Hyderabad: The Gudimalkapur Police arrested five members of a mobile phone theft gang and recovered eight stolen mobile phones along with two motorcycles on Saturday.
The case pertains to a man who was allegedly threatened with knives and robbed of his mobile phone by a group travelling in an autorickshaw earlier this week.
Based on the victim’s complaint, police analysed CCTV footage and technical evidence and nabbed the suspects.
During interrogation, police found that the gang was allegedly involved in multiple mobile phone thefts and robberies across different parts of Hyderabad.
Police said another four suspects are absconding and efforts continue to nab them.
