Hyderabad: BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan ridiculed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claims of convincing Rahul Gandhi to be a Prime Ministerial candidate.
He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi required Revanth Reddy’s endorsement to emerge as a national leader, calling such claims politically arrogant and absurd.
In a statement, Sravan said the Chief Minister was attempting to project himself as if he had the authority to influence the selection of a Prime Ministerial candidate. He said Revanth Reddy was trying to create a perception that he had grown out of proportion in terms of money, muscle and political machinery.
“This petty attempt only exposes Revanth Reddy’s political arrogance and hubris born out of ill-gotten corrupt wealth,” he remarked.
He reminded Rahul Gandhi’s political stature had been shaped through nationwide political movements, including the Bharat Jodo Yatra, rather than through endorsements by a corrupt Chief Minister who faces one of the highest numbers of criminal cases.
The BRS MLC said Revanth Reddy was portraying Rahul Gandhi as though he was reluctant to take up the battle for the Prime Minister’s post. He accused the Chief Minister of seeking publicity through such remarks and warned that projecting the Congress leader in this manner trivialised Congress’s national leadership.
