Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda has secured Guinness World Records recognition after organising the world’s largest Inflammatory Bowel Disease awareness session with 578 participants. The initiative aimed to improve public awareness, promote early symptom recognition and encourage timely medical consultation.

Yashoda Hospitals earns Guinness World Records recognition for IBD awareness session

Hyderabad: Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda has earned a place in the Guinness World Records by organising the largest Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) awareness session, with a total of 578 participants attending both in person and online simultaneously, setting a new world record.

The record was officially verified by Rishi Nath, Official Adjudicator, Guinness World Records, and the award was received by Dr Kiran Peddi, Senior Gastroenterologist and Director, Center for IBD, and Dr S Prashanth Reddy, Unit Head, Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda.


Dr Pavan Gorukanti, Director, Yashoda Hospitals, said, “The remarkable achievement reflects the collective efforts of our doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, administrators and every member of the Yashoda family.”

The initiative was organised with the objective of increasing public awareness about IBD, promoting early recognition of symptoms and encouraging timely medical consultation.

Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda successfully hosted IBD Conclave 2.0, which brought together delegates from India and abroad.
