The State Task Force of the Prohibition and Excise Department seized 141 bottles of non-duty-paid liquor during vehicle checks at Pahadishareef near the airport. Officials said the liquor was being smuggled from other States, causing revenue loss to the State.

Hyderabad: The State Task Force of the Prohibition and Excise Department on Thursday seized 141 bottles of non-duty paid liquor during vehicle checking at Pahadishareef.
According to an official of the department, on information that non-duty paid liquor from other States, particularly from Goa, Haryana and Delhi, was being smuggled into the city, the STF team conducted checking of vehicles coming out of the RGI Airport.
During the check, the sleuths found 141 bottles of liquor in different cars and seized them. The smuggling of non-duty liquor causes a loss to State exchequer.
