Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao paid tributes to BR Ambedkar on his birth anniversary on Tuesday. He called Ambedkar as a visionary who dedicated his life to the upliftment of marginalised communities.
In a statement, Rama Rao said Ambedkar’s contribution to building an egalitarian society and framing the Constitution remains unmatched. He recalled that Article 3 of the Constitution enabled the formation of Telangana, fulfilling a long-standing aspiration of its people.
He said the decade-long BRS government rule framed policies which were inspired by Ambedkar’s ideals. He pointed to the installation of a 125-foot statue of Ambedkar in Hyderabad and the naming of the State Secretariat after him as marks of respect to his legacy. He said Ambedkar’s ideals would continue to guide future generations and public policy.
