Siddipet: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has consolidated its position in Dubbak municipality as the solitary independent councillor-elect joined the party a day after his victory.
The BRS had won 11 wards out of 20. The party also had the cushion of utilising the ex-officio vote of MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy.
However, with independent candidate Mohammed Chand, who won from the 17th ward, joining the party, the BRS has consolidated its position ahead of the election of chairperson and vice-chairperson, scheduled for February 16.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dubbak MLA thanked the voters for keeping faith in the party and in him by giving a clear mandate in favour of the BRS.
