Congress candidate’s son attacked, case booked in Karimnagar

Karimnagar: Mild tension prevailed in the town on Tuesday evening when Sheshank Reddy, son of Congress party candidate from the 22nd division, Gundati Srinivas Reddy, was allegedly attacked by BJP activists.

Congress leaders alleged that BJP aspirant Banda Ramana Reddy was responsible for the attack. They claimed that BJP cadres from other areas attacked Sheshank Reddy in front of Ramana Reddy and fled with his gold chain.

Alleging that fear of defeat in the election had driven the BJP cadre to resort to attacks on Congress activists, party leaders lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched an investigation.
