Woman found dead in Asifabad, police register suspicious death case

A 38-year-old woman was found dead in an agricultural field in Rallaguda village of Dahegaon mandal. Police traced the body after a search operation and registered a suspicious death case. Post-mortem examination is under way.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A woman was found dead at Rallaguda village in Dahegaon mandal on Wednesday evening.

Kagaznagar Rural Inspector Kumaraswamy said Kalavathi (38), wife of carpenter Santosh of Rallaguda, died due to a head injury at an agricultural field on the outskirts of the village. She was returning after visiting her son at a school in Ityala village. Women from the village who were accompanying Kalavathi said she went towards a stream citing nature’s call and did not return.


Suspicion arose when Kalavathi failed to reach home by 8 pm, following which her family members lodged a complaint through the Dial 100 service. Police launched a search and traced the body around 9 pm based on the location of her mobile phone.

Kalavathi is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter, both aged below 15 years.

A case of suspicious death was registered based on a complaint from the family members. The body was shifted to Mancherial General Hospital for post-mortem examination. Investigation is under way.
