Sangareddy teacher allegedly dies by suicide over credit card repayment pressure

Sangareddy: Depressed over a bank’s insistence on repayment of loans taken using his credit card, a government school teacher allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Malkapur, under the limits of Kondapur police station, on Wednesday.

The teacher, Mangali Veresham (33), was working at Tummalapalli Government School in neighbouring Vikarabad district and residing in Sangareddy district. He had reportedly borrowed money using his credit card a few months ago but was unable to repay the amount.

When bank representatives repeatedly called him demanding repayment, Veresham allegedly took the extreme step. He is survived by his wife and five-year-old son.

The Kondapur police registered a case and an investigation was under way.
