Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Traffic Police registered six criminal cases in the past week against motorists using fake, tampered or unauthorised number plates.
Several vehicles were also seized during the special enforcement drive.
The cases were registered in Banjara Hills, Amberpet, Hanamkonda, Kondapur and Choutuppal (two cases).
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) D Joel Davis warned that using fake or manipulated number plates would invite criminal prosecution and vehicle seizure.
He requested motorists to use only government-approved High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP), stating that the crackdown would continue.
