Hyderabad: A 24-year-old woman conductor of the Manuguru RTC depot, Gundla Pravalika, died on Tuesday night after battling for life for 10 days following an alleged attack by a woman passenger who pushed her out of a moving bus over a ticket and change dispute.
The incident occurred on October 25 near Mittagudem in Aswapuram mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
Pravalika was on duty aboard a Manuguru-Bhadrachalam Palle Velugu bus when an argument reportedly broke out with passenger Banoth Mounika over a ticket for her son and the balance amount for a Rs 100 note.
The dispute allegedly escalated, with Mounika pushing Pravalika out of the moving bus. She fell onto the road and was run over by the rear wheels, suffering severe injuries, including extensive damage to her right leg.
She was initially shifted to a hospital in Bhadrachalam and later moved to a private hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries despite medical efforts.
TGSRTC Managing Director Y Nagireddy expressed deep shock over her death, describing it as an irreparable loss to the organisation.
Nagireddy spoke to the Bhadradri Kothagudem SP and urged the police to register a murder case against the suspect woman and take stringent action.
He assured that the RTC would extend all possible support to Pravalika’s family and take measures to prevent attacks on employees while on duty.
