Telangana Congress factional feud intensifies in Peddapalli constituency

Mancherial: Internal bickering among factions of the Congress leaders continues to haunt the party in Peddapalli Parliament segment.

In the latest instance, Peddapalli MP Dr Vamshi openly expressed his displeasure against Collector K Sriharsha for ignoring him during official programmes causing embarrassment to him. He took his social media handles and criticised the Collector for not giving priority. He accused Shriharsha of giving more priority to instructions of minister D. Sridhar Babu than him.

His followers allege that Vamshikrishna was sidelined by Sridhar Babu and other MLAs who seemed to have formed a rival group to work against against him. The followers charge that MLAs Makkan Singh, Vijayaramana Rao, Adluri Laxman, K Premsagar Rao were operating a faction led by Sridhar Babu. They are accused of using social media platforms to express their dissent, sparking political war and confusing cadres.

The followers regretted that the MP was not treated as a member of the Congress. They alleged that the district officials were showing negligence in identifying land for an airport sanctioned to Basanthnagar following efforts of Vamshikrishna, fearing he would get credit for securing the facility. They reasoned that the MP was facing discrimination for being a dalit.

Sridhar Babu’s supporters repportedly launched an attack against Vamshi on Facebook, Youtube and X. They claim that the invites of official programmes were fixed as per protocol norms. They refuted allegations of their counterparts of the MP. They clarified that neither the government, nor Sridhar Babu was not deliberately sidelining Vamshikrishna.

Meanwhile, it is rumored that Vamshikrishna along with his father and Labor minister Dr G Venkata Swamy are planning to join the BJP after being upset by discrimination and groupism within the Congress. They have been at loggerheads with Mancherial MLA K Premsagar Rao over protocol issues.

Vivek and Vamshikrishna are reportedly supporting M Jaganmohan Rao, a Congress leader who raised a banner of revolt against Premsagar Rao in recent times. Followers of Jaganmohan and Premsagar Rao clashed each other spoiling law and order in Dandepalli mandal a few weeks back.
