Hyderabad: A confrontation between Jukkal MLA Laxmikantha Rao and Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha over nominated posts and party appointments turned ugly in New Delhi. The MLA is now preparing to lodge a complaint against the Minister with the AICC and TPCC.
Laxmikantha Rao accused the Minister of verbally abusing him in front of party leaders at Hotel Shangri-La in New Delhi. Reports said the altercation took place in the hotel lobby.
The MLA is learnt to have told his supporters that the Minister threatened to physically assault him and used objectionable language during the confrontation.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and other Ministers were also in the national capital to attend a party programme. However, the confrontation between the Jukkal MLA and the Health Minister turned ugly.
A few MLAs from Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar districts witnessed the altercation and were left shocked by the episode.
The two leaders have been at odds for the past few weeks over the appointment of the Sangareddy DCC president and other party posts. The Minister is believed to have objected to the Jukkal MLA’s involvement in party appointments.
Following the Delhi episode, Laxmikantha Rao is taking up the matter seriously with the AICC and TPCC. He wants action to be initiated against the Minister, party sources said.
